I'm only down for 5 days , hopefully I will get enough time to catch one ,I will be happy just to get my line in ! I will be going back later in the year for a family holiday and hopefully another go ! Are you driving through the hell hole Paris maze ? I try to avoid it like a bream ! I usually spend the first few days after my arrival mapping out the river on my kayak , studying the new fallen trees and the new resting up places then introducing my baits .so , no hanging around this time ! Just getting my excuses in for the blank !

some cracking lakes down there , if you are flying to Limoges you will see some of them as you come in to land ,i've never fished them as I'm a river man , but I have often spoke to the groups coming back or too at Limoges and they usually seem happy , I'm flying down a week on Sunday , I cant wait to get back on my river !

Its that time again , the search for this years hooks !

one of the most important items I take with me , used to take part of my broken oil stone , I now have a lovely fold up jobby ,

I have fished the Lot many times and caught many of the Iberian strain up to around 5-6 lb , good fun on light tackle , a few of the lads I know don't talk much about the "big uns " they catch and I am sworn to secrecy ! All I will say is that im spoilt for choice as to where to fish !

but , if you are after a beast , go to spain on the Guadiana river system , I saw a report on a guy who caught over 20 , and the average size was 28 lb !

there is a restaurant in Bergerac where there is a locally caught barbell stuffed that sure looks 20 lb + they go to over 30 lb in spain so I reckon there is a good chance they are over 20 lb in south France , I have seen one around 16 - 17 lb caught on the Dordogne !

just ordered my wychwood bed , pick it up Friday along with my fox micron alarms x3 then off to France on Tuesday , on my river on Wednesday ! can't wait !

will be making my way down to decathlon today !

the barbell in the Dordogne go to a very good size , over 20 lb , not so big in the river lot though , different strain , I've not had bigger than around6 - 7 lb , great fun though when you get into them , you might be in a spot of bother if you manage to hook a large carp on barbell tackle though

some of there stuff is very funny, "Danny Dyer" and "horse outside" ! some of the lyrics cracked me up , "dads best friend" was darker !

Meanwhile in Mosul , our partner in crime , The great and just , good old USA have just admitted a slightly off course airstrike , killing over 220 civilians , there is no doubt in my mind who the terrorists are , doesn't quite get deserved publicity though , in our media great unbiased media

nothing brave about leaving bombs to kill women and kids , driving cars into them , crashing planes with them in , nothing brave at all , if anyone killed mine I would go after the person or people responsible , not innocents , and no you would never change our governments foreign policy without extreme violence , that's obvious , and I do have sympathy with the Irish cause , just not the majority of their targets

as one bows out another one rears his ugly head , I can understand why they do what they do , they should go after the cause of their problems , them who make the decisions that affect them , not the innocents ! Mr Blair , Murdoch maybe (in a none violent way of course ) ! so , I have no respect for them , either side !

a motion detecting light on a metal pole , light things up at night , maybe for security also , i hate having a light strapped to my head all night , has anyone tried one ?
