  1. just ordered gamakatsu g point super strong and some korda xx ,
  2. I have talked to so many people who say they cant find a hook they have a good level of confidence in , I cant understand ! , surely a hook manufacturer looks through forums or has enough knowledge to know that its worth taking a punt on making something that will be up to it ! I have lost around 4 or 5 good size fish over the last 3 years through hooks opening out or snapping
  3. do you reckon that it would be possible to warm with a blow torch till " cherry " red then bend it without loosing strength of the hook
  4. I'm hoping gamakatsu is going to be up to it this year !
  5. so , is there a must buy hook this year , I'm looking at Gamakatsu G super snag , or the RX , or if the fox SSBP is still what it was then that could tempt me ! I do like the straight points ! yep , its below the belt , why produce a large carp hook , size 2 or 4 or even an 8 when its week , I changed to a certain brand 2 years ago and the first fish on snapped my hook , , ive bent a few in the last few years but never snapped one , I don't think ever before , someone said it was a bad batch , they were just way too thin , I should of clocked it but I listened to a recommendation , I think they would of been fine for the fishery that the recommendation came from , but not for an angry river carp !
  6. Bring back the terraces ,I can remember being on Burnden park when there was 51000 on when I was a nipper , even when we were in the old 4th division there was more of an atmosphere than the soulless reebock/ macron ! I hate the place , a soulless characterless , clinical , modern stadium , the only good point I would make for it is that the view is not restricted by pillars or posts anywhere, there was nothing better than jumping up n down for a minute when your team score then having to find your mates again and your were kept warm in winter like sardines !
  7. well done Leicester , keep it up !
  8. could be a winner with the sock ball , i will remember that , she has grown out of it now though , puppy teething thing ! i must admit though i think her favourite chew in the whole world is worn womens knickers , if any end up on the floor they get the crotch area chewed out and that part of them are never seen again , she has taken the odd pair from the washing basket ! doesnt bother with male undies ! I have heard an old fisherman i know talk about salmon fishing and how a group of well seasoned salmon fishemen would use their wives period soaked knickers to attract salmon ! just a fishy story are what ?
  9. yep cm , I think so !
  10. i thought his rod was going surfing
  11. i think he was caught with his pants down !
  12. pretty sure this is a spot i fished 3 years ago
  13. while im at it i thought id drop this in there , been enjoying watching this girl making shapes round the world for last 2 years , she just seems to love shakin her stuff dont think she does it for money , dont care if she does !
  14. sorry / listen to kings of leon then the muppets and see if they are as similar as they sound to me ,
  15. whilst renovating a kids nursery we stumbled upon this on vynil, we had some council officials inspecting the place so we put this on as it summed their knowledge (on building )up perfectly ,the muppets so , after a fairly recent high profile court case on copying music , are they as similar ! blurred lines i think was by robin look at me !
  16. seems like something the Nazis would of done !
  17. I drilled all holes with a bog standard masonry drill bit , to make the bigger hole I started off with a 6 mm drill bit then used a 8 mm then 10 mm then 12 mm , I will look at both methods , glue in swivel and the hole through . ! the soft sandstone I drill is quite soft , I just hold the stone in my left hand and drill with my right hand with the stone resting on a wooden bench or something that doesn't matter if it gets drilled ,my drill is light though , might be tricky with a heavier drill !
  18. yes , found them buzz, stone net sinkers ! just what im looking for !
  19. cheers mooseman, ! I have all the things you mentioned except pre digested fishmeal , but I usually buy a sack in spring and take a small bag with me when I go as ground bait. I think I saw a post by nick on the subject of soaking wooden balls ! simple , and simple = good , for me !
  20. wow ! did you find the little ones tricky to drill buzz , was that with a standard masonry bit ? I have thought of using a bit that's used for drilling ceramic tiles , possibly ! I do manage to get through sandstone without the hammer action though (less damage on exit hole ), making sure that where the bit is going to emerge from is sat on something , usually wood to stop a chunk of stone being forced off as the drill head emerges . !
  21. thanks cyborx , NM , i will be trying this !
  22. ALL GOOD STUFF ! thanks for the reply's . I am going to look into the leak rates of all things I can think of , I have thought of popping a wooden bung in both ends using a porous wood like balsa with the bung to be around 8 - 10 mm long with the middle length of the pebble completely filled with leaky filler, possibly corresponding everything , 12 mm drill 12 mm doweling , maybe soaking a pre cut lengths of dowel and having them in a goo pot on the bank ready to pop in to the pebble ,maybe a length of hemp rope soaked in goo at the required diameter ? I will keep faffing around !
  23. cheers androoooo ! I will have a play this next weekend !
  24. please !
