  1. Best 45 minutes I've seen us play in years. Let's hope they don't lose their concentration in the second half and give it more of the same. I've never seen Wenger set up so tactically astute
  2. Worried about what We'll finish above West Spam even if we play our under 18's
  3. After playing abysmally in the 1st half; West Ham took Hull apart in the 2nd half and were worthy of the victory. If Hull knew how to hit the back of the net, it would have been a different story. Steve Bruce needs a goalscorer during the January transfer window or I think Hull will be playing in the Championship next season.
  4. I use a figure of 8 loop knot on the end of my rigs, the swivels that Tim has posted and an anti tangle sleeve (Also as Tim has posted ) Never have any grief
  5. To be honest, I fish it so rarely like this that I've just never lost the lead. But if I were worried I'd just tie the clip up with a bit of PVA string, Tim. I don't like dumping the lead at all if I can help it.
  6. I do that with a standard Fox lead clip. No need for the plastic bit at the bottom, just leave out the clip. There's a little bit of resistance when carp first feels the hook and then the swivel comes out of the lead clip and runs free. If you want to make sure that the lead comes off when it hits the putty though, don't use a tail rubber.
  7. Not to my knowledge.
  8. I use without either, works fine (Sorry, should have mentioned that it's not an exact carbon copy )
  9. Tim, look at the video I've posted. It's a carbon copy of how I do it, and is exactly the same as Nick describes other than it doesn't use a double ring swivel.
  10. I just love leadcore
  11. First question; why do you want the leads to drop off?
  12. It's pretty much exactly the same, including the power output.
  13. I use this type which fit perfectly in a lead clip and the use an anti tangle sleeve to go over the swivel. The anti tangle sleeve helps to ensure I have a great presentation every time, ensures that the rig can't come off of the swivel and means that you can use a lead clip and anti tangle sleeve to match the lake without having to worry about swivel colour.
  14. You most definitely WON'T get any scorn from this end mate. But I would consider just tying a loop on the end of your rig with a figure of 8 knot and having a quick link tied to your line. It gives you the required speed of change and is a cheaper (And safer (Less chance of a snap off, in my opinion)) way of doing it. And it will save you a couple of quid (Not a lot, but every little helps ).
  15. I've just noticed (And this has no relevance to the rig and is just me being nosey ) that you have a quick change swivel on the rig. What do you use on your line to connect it to?
  16. First point, in my opinion, is that it's no good tying a rig to check it's underwater properties with a hook link material different to what you intend to fish with. Is the fake corn, corn or maize? And I'd use a small shot on the hair about 5mm from the corn if it were needed. I'd be looking to get the corn to cover the hook as much as possible when looking at it from above.
  17. What's the second job?
  18. I line the tackle companies pockets and have a stripping tool. When I'm on the bank in the middle of the winter a little tool which works easily in cold hands is well worth it in my opinion (That and I'm a sucker for a gadget ).
  19. Clicky
  20. Yes it is; although a lot of people no longer tuck it through the second loop. You can also get a crimper. Much easier than tying a knot with stiff material (Especially with cold hands ) and much easier to get the rigs exactly the right length.
  21. Small section of 1" overflow pipe with the silicon tubing wrapped around it?
  22. That's silicone tube, not heat shrink. Unfortunately, the seller isn't an angler, or very intelligent
  23. I use 0.5mm as hook silicone. I don't use it to cover the knot on the hook. If I want to cover the hook knot I use heat shrink.
  24. Easy strong knot that's perfect for the job.
