  1. It's lovely to see you smiling in the top 'photo , Nick . You usually seem to be grimacing in pain from the effort of lifting your catch due to your bad back . 😃
  2. Aren't a lot of us now showing our age , Jules , except Elmo of course who just gets more adonis like 😁 .
  3. Hi Everyone . If I bought a 2.5L jar of Hemp and opened it ,then took what I didn't use home and kept it in a disused fridge how long would it last please ? .
  4. Hi Framey . I've recently used the small Plumb-Ezee ( with a dumpy pear ! ) and it certainly pops up to the surface locked to the depth it has found . However , it seems that it will still come to the surface even if it lands in the middle of a weedbed . What I did notice though was that sometimes when it surfaced bubbles erupted around it , so maybe that's where the weed is ? . I'll have a twiddle , then it should be just the job . 😃
  5. I've just ordered the small version of the Plumb-Ezzee , Framey . Looking at the video it could solve the problem I sometimes have with Polaris floats when my mono has gone crinkly and the float jams . Or I could just use braid .
  6. Ahh , I feel a plan forming ! . I've got a Weed Rake , but I can never throw it out as far as I want . So go Breakaway Lead with the prongs and I just might clear a neat little path for my line lay .
  7. Thanks , everyone . I have used " prongs " before , but I can't remember why I stopped ? ,I may well have another go .
  8. That could be just the job , Framey . I have used polaris floats previously . I'll look more closely later . Thanks very much .
  9. Hi Everyone . I'm thinking about using an ESP Marker Dart Float in the small size with a 2oz lead to quietly check out margin spots on short sessions i.e. I don't want to disturb the swim too much . What shape of lead should I be looking at please ? . Ta .
  10. As you say GP , wait a while before your next trip - Easter ? . I must admit my local lake is only producing the odd Carp , the fish seem to be having a bit of a lie in ! . 😃
  11. Well glass half full it sounds that you did nothing wrong , Golden Paws . On my local water I registered a water temperature of 11C ; I don't know what type of water you were fishing , G.P. ? .
  12. You need a Korda Krash Helmet , in camo. of course ! .
  13. Hi Luke Funnily enough my Wife is very reluctant when I suggest she smells my boilies , these ladies just don't know what they're missing ! . I only use the stabilised ,which are marketed as an improvement to shelf life , but my stabilised have lasted considerably longer than they are supposed to . I read an article by Shaun Harrison in which he said he liked to use 2 different flavours and colours concurrently . Whatever you do decide , Luke , tight lines . 😃
  14. Hello Luke . I started off using Shrimp and Squid in 15mm frozen , but eventually was able to switch to stabilised . I wanted to go down in size to 12mm and there was a minimum order , at the time , of 5kg ,and I couldn't afford to buy both , so I went for the Squidy goodness . I recently bought 1kg of 12mm Shrimp , and ran both the Squid and Shrimp together , but I find I radiate towards the Squid . I'm not saying the Squid is definately better than the Shrimp it's just that I have more confidence in the Squid - I guess I just like the smell ! . 😃
  15. Tight lines , Elmo . Don't fall on your bum like Ouch . 😁
