  1. well there's reading angling association they have a number of venues,as does farnham angling association or take a look at california country park run by wokingham borough council.if you pop into yateley angling then the people in there could probably tell you a bit about the above or they all have web sites
  2. nice fish well done,my mates been told by bidders(sandhurst head bailiff) that the 46lb common is aload of tosh, sorry to disappoint
  3. you saw it on the radio your good, really good
  4. i heard a rumour that sandhurst done a 46lb common at the weekend, anyone else hear about it.a mate actually told me he heard it on keith arthur's fishermans blues radio show as well
  5. take a look at avid carp range,im pretty sure they have designed the exact thing your after,a bead for chod fishing with a fluro leader/mainline
  6. personally i would fish for a bite this time of year,if you get action then think about putting a bit of bait in.if you fail to find the fish on your arrival, then i would head for the pipe swim, second pipes or the car park swims they have a good track record at this time of year

    Crimps

i have used the wychwood crimps and when i used them with some of the coated braids they have slipped so i thought i should let you know, and i pulled the rigs before casting them out,and they seemed perfectly fine.but i have had no trouble with mono
  8. no waiting list as far as i know, dont fish there myself but a mate of mine goes there now and again(he fishes thorney),his approach at this time of year is to bang single hookbaits out into the middle of the pond, this has caught him a few fish, though if he sees a few fish role he would then set up on them
  9. if you've got the money then go for it.not many lakes around wifh as many forties & thirties as welly. and a fifty at right time of year.i know a few anglers that haved fished there.the boilie only approach is the way to go.plenty of stuff written and filmed there so info on the place is easy to get hold off.get on there and fill your boots
  10. could try cemex thorpe lea,a runs water is an understatement.if you get it right you won't get any sleep
  11. i tend to use 2-4" rigs when fishing over particle,as the fish aren't moving much to get there next mouthfull and on a hard clean bottom ,and longer rigs when fishing over a spread of boilies on silt or weed
  12. as well as the fish stock i think you need to look more at what the lake is like,as in weed, snags, gravel bars etc only then can you decide on what line is best suited.
  13. fish not spawning yet and are probably not going to be for 3 to 4 weeks yet.not fished there myself but a mate used to go there in the spring and he found the best tactic was to launch single hookbaits out into the middle.there are some cracking looking fish in there though, there all really dark fish ranging from doubles to a possible forty, there are plenty of fish in there it is not un common to have several fish in a day/weekend.the fish come out anytime but early morning was the better time.afraid thats all i can tell you
  14. are you refering to thorney wier in west drayton?if so what lake are you going to fish?the day ticket one or the syndicate lake
  15. have walked round the site a couple of years ago when there was on going work.they have been stocking the lakes regularly and putting alot of effort into the site,am going this year myself in september, its run by a respected french fish farmer and an english fella who knows his stuff and wants you to catch fish and respect them at the same time,go on there website for more info, they done a show in holland the other year and got some excellent feed back from some very respected english and european anglers, and also had a few bait companies interested in supplying them with there respected baits, which you don't get on new up and coming lakes in france as there are so many, so there is obviously some good things going on down there.if you decide to go good luck.you also have achoice of waters, one aruns water and the other a bit more difficult but with a stocking of better fish
  16. freedom lakes has one lake with carp and cats, carp to 50lb+ and cats to over 100lb,with the potential to have aching arms by the end of your week should you hit it right
  17. this time of year i would be looking at what are the car park swims or the pipe swim or the second pipe swim.have fished the lake on a number of occasions although not recently.these swims in my opinoin are the better ones especially if the sun is up.i think i have fished the pipe swim and second pipe swim about 9 times between them and have never blanked in them, with 3 of those times being in winter and the rest around the easter holidays.hope that sheds abit of light on it.otherwise you'll have to wait and see how the social goes that will surely give you the answers you require.
  18. you need to know what lake your going to fish first.as some of them sell bait when you get there so there choice of bait should also be yours.or like the above post says get in touch with the owner/bailiff he will point you in the right direction.as for bait size your nearly always told to take big baits to france.so why not be different and take small baits,10 or 12mm.i know for a fact that this method works for some of the top european anglers

    360 rig

gazmeesh, just gone through your post,am pretty shocked, but like i say i never experienced anything like that ,but then i was using the rig on a"big fish water"...tel90 if your fishing for smaller fish and this sort of damage can be done then better leave well alone

    360 rig

its a totally safe rig to use mate, used to use it myself, had some proper carp on it aswell ,i would say that 95% of the fish i caught on it were hooked at least 2 inches back in the bottom of the mouth and bang centre, also don't think the man that invented it would have used it if it was dangerous to the fish seeing he's in the public eye alot(dave lane)
  21. fishing book-micky grays "a merry olde dance" he tells it how it is,it puts a smile on your face and also brings a tear to your eye ,brilliant.non fishing book is lance armtsrong's (pro' cyclist) auto-biography,if you need inspiration then this is the book, what he goes through and comes through beggars belief, awesome read
  22. have only ever used it in boilie mixes,if it has not been used on your water then you'd better get some spare batterys for your alarms,i was fortunate enough to be one of the first to use it on my old water and my god the runs just kept coming.have only ever used it at 1oz per lb of base mix, though i have seen it recommended at 2oz per lb.i once put a piece into my pond which holds around 7 carp and they wouldn't go near the stuff,so i would say you can over do it.though when i put my bait containing it in they can't get enough of it.another point i would recommend is to always use belechan in its block form,a friend of mine used the paste version once and his catch rates plummeted, once back on the solid block his catch rates went back up.the way i get it into my boilie mixes is to put it in a blender along with my eggs,it blitz's it lovely
  23. don't want to burst your bubble but have heard of/seen this rig on a number of occasions in several magazines.it has also been tied with carp r us centurions, nash fangs and several other curved shanked hooks.and it has been used with bottom baits, pop ups and critically balanced baits, bit of an all round rig
