Which alternative hookbait colour?elmoputney replied to elmoputney's topic in UK Bait and Bait Making Yeah definately about confidence, my usual starting point is washed out pink, then white. Then If it's really not going well a yellow tutti lol

Why don't you weigh it to see if it is the correct amount.

Which colour alternative hookbait is going to save a blank? Match the hatch doesn't count.

Done some more shopping this afternoon 2 packs of korda sz11 spinner swivels #NoRing 2 packs of size 4 ESP trighammer XT 1 pack or esp claw hammers size 4 For an out the pack hook the esp range are pretty sharp, and the trig hammer XT is the right version of the trig hammer, it's a lot less flexible and still really sharp, I was getting loads of hooks coming back burred when using sharpened hooks, mainly when using wafters,so far the trig hammers have all came back sharp even with a straight point, although I think I will be switching more to pop ups again to try and beat the nuisance fish and that common this weekend restored my faith in the washed out pink proper jobs 🙏

I've seen them doing that, just sitting there terrorising the poor rudd who just want to eat a free meal. They like yellow pop ups, waiting till you've broken your rod and reel and you are trying to retrieve your end tackle, following in my rigs, then just being so knackered they have to recover in the margins for a while. If pike were human they would definately take any opportunity to loot a greggs after 8 cans of Stella and a riot.

This might be controversial 😱 I think pike are a bigger nuisance than bream.

I also just bought a front for my axs shelter, I really like having a bivvy that goes up really quickly these days and with all that rain the other day I thought it would benefit a front so when I saw one for £45 it seemed like a good deal. I also bought 50m of ridgemonkey bait floss for £2.99, some fox Micro anti tangle sleeves and nearly 2000 metres of 8lb sufix line for £2.99 (will use for backing my spools) Gotta love a good deal.

I've recently stopped using leaders in favour of ESP tungsten tubing. Sinks really well tbh. Fox inline lead with a fox tadpole insert with tubing. I don't push the lead on fully just onto the ridged bit then it can run free on a take, seems to be working quite well, I would like to find a company that does inlines with the same bore as fox as I want some bigger inline leads if anyone knows any that would be great?

I didn't say the ruling class were working class btw just they are parasites of the working class ie they take everything from the working class to live lives of luxury whilst sitting on backsides trying to take our human rights away, Devolution is happening because of the slow agonising death of capitalism. There is a new big cheese in town and the capitalists and neoliberalists weren't prepared for it sadly neither were the socialists, making big money is no longer about owning the machinery to produce things, and controlling the wages of the Labour who do the producing. it's all about a few people owning all the cloud based equity, they can charge capitalists cloud rent for things like selling on amazon, ebay,Spotify, Google ads etc without being bound by taxation like capitalists, so even the ruling class are being whipped and the working class just go about being programmed and manipulated by what they read and view online, also paying for services to entertain themselves, have you ever had a discussion with someone about a product or person or something and even without searching, later on that day it's become a suggestion for you to purchase or news stories appear about that person or thing? It's only going to get worse until goverments gain control of it. And I don't think they have a clue how yet. Anyway back on topic, rod licences grrr

If you fished on the rivers you might catch the plague or something these days, all the faecal matter being dumped into them by privatised water companies, ruining the utilities whilst making gross profits for shareholders, and yet when they go belly up we will have to bail them out again with tax payer funding. I'm not sure what the rod licence really does either.but it hasnt maintained our waterways, they always flood now because they never seem to dredge thema keep the drains clean. Nowadays the ouse seems flooded for a 3rd of the year. Whag a country this is, ruled by parasites of the working class.

I think the 12lb is 0.35mm and like the hydrotuff breaks well above the stated BS, so essentially it is a 15lb line and then some, it's also very abrasion resistant and also fairly low stretch, well worth a look

Have you tried gt80+that's a copolymer and it sinks like a brick.
-
I could've but I already had one extra deep spool so I just went with an extra deep one and will get another deep one, once they have backing they are just like shallow spools really anyway. Then I'll have 2 sets one for 15lb gt80+ for weed/snag fishing and probably some thinner katran stuff for casting a bit further in less weedy conditions lol.

River Waveney, Beccles, Suffolkelmoputney replied to barry211's topic in UK Venues and Where to Fish Is it called the river wave knee or the wav er knee?

I got checked for the first time ever last year, it has got expensive, but it's still only 5ltrs of olive oil, half a tank of diesel, probably 7 or 8 pints of beer at a pub, and over 4 x national minimum wage and about the price of cooking a roast on a Sunday with the heating on low. The only thing we need now are wages, pensions and benefits to catch up and we will all live happily ever after.

I've got some of that still, it does make a good boom tbh, I think I bought a weird colour though it's almost the same as a pair of farah action slacks. Also don't buy the extreme that is impossible to use.
-
Still love them, they have been perfect, they did get a bit dirty after that rain, must give them a clean.
-
I mainly use 15lb korda boom, I have used Gardner stiff link before in 25lb but I find they can be too thick and wirey in 25lb, I like the korda one because you can now get XS crimps which match the 15lb nicely. The 15lb boom is a little more supple and yet stiff enough to always reset.

Thanks I did change the settings on my camera like you suggested, I think it turned out pretty well, certainly a lot nicer than some of my prior efforts thanks for the guidance,
