  4. don't want to wind anyone up here butive just been looking at the lake on their web site and to be fair it looks nice but far to small for me, and theres to much room taken up with those two islands

  10. what size do the carp go to down under lads, and it may sound daft but do you have the same species there as we have here
  11. caspa ive never been france before, but you aint going until april/may dont rush in mate do some research? have you heard of a place called bills lake or etangs de breton?
  12. i think sometimes we get caught up in manufactors products camo line, camo shots,my mate has lost the plot, he puts that camo tape on everything, he has to have the lot in realtree im sure these products are to catch the angler rather than the fish when will they bring out a dpm/camo boilie they could do the normal green/brown for spring/summer, white/blue for winter and desert storm pattern if your thinking of going abroad
  13. wish i could go mate, the mrs got me going to some boring party full of geeks, not one of them fishes and dont even understand the offside rule might have to fake a illness
  14. you be ok mate get out and have a crack if it warms up a tadge and the lake thaws they might just be on the mooch about for some scran, thats what i tell myself time and time again to no avail
  15. simples fozzy get your kit togrther, and try and find a lake thats not frozen
  16. think krstonite is about a fiver, green or brown, dont think it really matters really, as beanz said be careful lending this out they tend not to come back, you must take the same people i go with beanz
  17. try using felt marker pen on your shot mate but for me its krystonite heavy metal putty, stay clear from some of the cheaper puttys as i find they are brittle especially when it gets colder, hope this is of help sime
  18. i use them to mate but i find the black ones a bit shinny so i scuff them up a bit mwit fine sandpaper, good hook though
  19. hi caspa, had a look over at these lakes, heron used to be a stock lake i beleive, its supposed to be rammed with 20's and a splatering of 30's, to much of a runs water for me pal, but can't knock you for going if you like runswaters, i think fox would be more suited to myself, let me know how you get on pal and all the best
  20. have a look around mate, i tend to keep away from some of the dearer products in the terminal tackle department [ sorry mr korda] tend to lean to products that are reasonably priced work well, and most important for me is safe to use, just keep asking and people on here will usually be obliging all the best
  21. ive been using atomic products jellie wire jaxx v v nice, as for shrink tubing on the hook when you place your short section onto your hook shank leave a bit over the eye of your hook, say about10mm, then boil your kettle hold onto your hook AT THE HOOKS BEND WITH PLIERS, when the kettle is at its peak pass your hook over the steam and slightly apply pressure at the hooklenght material end, putting a slight bend to your tubing, this will turn the hook in the carp's mouth on the take, BE CAREFUL OF YOUR FINGERS WHEN USING THE KETTLE as for your lead set up, i would still use the set up your using however i think your tail rubber is way way to tight on the lead clip, what i do is do away with the tail rubber and just carefully slice a tiny piece of the tail rubber off the widest part of the tail rubber, then it just looks like a little rubber washer roll this simply over your lead clip, and when you get a run the clip will discharge your lead far more easily, hope this helps. sime
  22. i also heard the same jules, go with a mate or two just in case, and take a little something of a suprise just in case, i heard pineapple boilies work well there
