  4. Watermede is without a doubt a tough nut to crack, 45 acres i think merricks is like most waters matt if you can find them you can nail them as for fishing there at night safety wise, i have heard that it had a reputation of people getting mugged, but never really seen anything like that myself, booking guests in is a strict no no, best thing i could suggest to you matt is take a trip down at the weekend and have a chat with some of the lads on there hope this helps matt. sime

  8. If i was looking to join somewhere matt it would be john merricks, near syston, £85 for the year and you get to fish 3 lakes for that, merricks, king leir, and another one as well, you can get a season ticket from county hall at glenfield, theres a good head of twentys in there and the odd 30 knocking around, the lake itself is set in beautiful surroundings and very quite, hope this helps lads, i'll be joining again next season
  9. Never fished it myself, but know lads that have, theres loads of mid doubles in there apparently, and the odd double, days can be a nightmare with the jet skis zipping round the lake, try mid week when the water bikers ain't there, hope this helps a little
  10. Is that the lake just after the jet ski place
  11. I personally would fish wintertons pal, as water sports and carping as far as im concerned dont mix, have a look at merricks, just over the road from the hope and anchor, 16/18 acres as a couple of thirties in there, pretty decent head of twenties in there and i beleive it's £80 for the season but you do get the odd boater on there but a very nice water that aint very busy
  12. Is benson in that stretch of the nene, when the nene flooded and he/she escaped
  13. £250 for the season mate, hardish water, loads of double figure bream but the speedboats and water skiers can be a bit of a pain in the a** hope this helps, where u from pal
  14. Also, wellham lakes, merricks near syston, navy's pit on the little hill estate wigston, i'll p.m you some contact numbers pal when i can gather the info but in case i forget in a couple of days just prompt me by p.m'ing me. sime

  16. As stated earlier mate either loop to loop, or spliced, it's up to you , both are equally as good
  17. my tip, find somewhere less pressurised, and enjoy some peaceful angling
  18. day ticket waters, overcrowded overpriced and overated, sooner sell my kit than go on st johns way to busy for me lads
  19. as anyone thought about putting putty in a window just a thought
  20. yeah glen thats the place, ive emailed the guy to ask about fish stocks etc, but he still has'nt replied, im a bit dubious about joining as theres no gallery and £230 is a lot to pay without no records of fish cheers again pal
  21. it can fish good in the winter coops it's a easyish water to fish, you need to see it when all the lilly's are up in the summer, but like i say in summer at weekends it does seem to attract the argos patio carpers with baitboats and huge gas bottles, shame really because under new managemant it could be a great water, i know the owner very well and used to match fish with him, he seems to only be intrested in £ rather than who's got an unhooking mat if you get me
  22. hi lads, ive just been looking at hawton waters in newark, nottinghamshire, does anyone have any info on the water, i know it's £230 for the season, ive tried the search but to no avail, any help would be great thanks sime
  23. i'd say the lake is probably about 3 and half acres in size, with approx 15 swims, so it can get very busy at weekends, dave is the bailiff if you do go down he'll put you right mate
  24. hi ralph i used to fish it all the time, fish go up to 28lb although mick the owner says bigger the lake bed is very average, about 4ft and choddy, any good quality bait works but beware weekends can get busy, i used to fish it in the week when theres less pressure, the car park swim works well, pleeeeeeeassssse dont use pellets or you'll be snotted up hope this helps sime
  25. one of the best books ive read was jaws, a lot better than the film, also the rats
