  1. Just bear in mind that's the one for casting buddy. It's pre-stretched so has lower abrasion resistance than the other two. If you're not going for distance the other two might be better options (imo).
  2. Any of Gardner lines mate. Gardner Pro as an all-rounder, Hydro-Tuff as as a bullet proof snag line, or GT-HD for casting.
  3. Depends on how far you're casting. For up to 60 you'll be fine without, for 100+ you'll likely need one. For mega long you will 100% require a very heavy shock leader.
  4. Believe it or not plastic is porous (albeit not very) so they will take on most glugs over time.
  5. Absolute bargain mate. I'm sure you'll love them. You'll get used to the QD in no time believe me.
  6. Just put your finger on the spool and tighten the clutch buddy. I have used several none baitrunner, none QD reels (tournies for example) and never come close to losing anything. Just don't panic, pick up the rod, tighten the clutch, happy days. You'd be looking at the Windcast/Crosscast for this kind of money. I'm a Daiwa user but I don't actually rate the budget models. If you can stretch to 130ish the Emblem 35 SCW 5000C QD is worth looking at but might be tricky to find them in stock anywhere at the moment.
  7. I've used both (and neither). There's no difference other than the means of adjustment. You get used to what you're using at the time. You get what you pay for when it comes to reels mate so a budget would help. I know the Penn Affinity's are rated highly for the money and they would be a big upgrade over the Regal Z's.
  8. I’d have just woken someone up. Most guys wouldn’t mind being woken for a biggun imo. To answer the question I’d be happy to sack a kipper up for a few hours at this time of year but 11pm is defo too long.
  9. I'm not sure if this is a joke or not but funny either way 🤣👍
  10. Personally if I was looking at saving money I'd put less of a decent bait in rather than more of a bait I wasn't 100% confident in. If bream were a problem then the tigers would be joining the party too.
  11. If you saw one then at least you have a starting point for next time buddy. I wouldn't worry about not having caught this year. It's been winter, the hardest time you could possibly be fishing. We've not really had any prolonged periods of high temperature to get that water temp up. Tbh this last 5-10 years I've considered March to be part of winter rather than spring (in fishing terms anyway). Clocks go back in a week or 2. All this blanking and freezing our nuts off will soon be a thing of the past. No need to panic yet.
  12. This ☝️☝️☝️ Temps are more important than food still. It'll be ages before the spots are proper trashed/polished imo.
  13. The most important thing is being on active fish. Nothing will work if there's nothing catchable in front of you. It is very easy to waste a lot of time trying random methods and baits on "likely looking" spots. Imo your time is better spent walking and watching. One you've found where they like to feed regularly, go back to basics and the rest should slot into place pretty quickly.
  14. They're essentially the same as the old Carp'R'Us Continental Centurion hook which is an absolute BEAST of a hook. They're now known as the ATS Continental Snag Hook. I can highly recommend them if ultimate strength is your priority. They come in size 2 as well: https://www.carprusdirect.com/product/ats-continental-snag-hook/
  15. Google "Cal's Universal Reel & Star Drag Grease". It's not particularly cheap but it's very good👍
  16. I would guess that even if they cannot utilise the extra protein the additional aminos would improve the pellets attraction qualities. But I'm no expert either lol.
  17. No but I've used their standard trouties which are excellent mate. No doubt at all that the posh ones will be brilliant.
  18. They'll likely be diving on the naturals that have been revealed as the weed dies.
  19. This is generally what happens to weed in winter buddy.

All depends on what you want to spend buddy?

It works as a remote but it's a bit of a faff. Make sure you set everything up prior to getting the kipper out of the water (so sort your settings and take some dummy shots holding a bag or something). Get the shots perfect then get mr carp out for the real shots. It can be set to take multiple shots but it works like a self-timer rather than an intervalometer i.e. it cannot adapt to the given shot. It'll only use the settings you've already put in place with the trail shots. I use it solely to get the shots off my camera through WiFi. I do think there are better options out there for you. There is a Canon Bluetooth remote that could can be held or placed under the knee and will focus/adapt to each shot as you click away. Might be worth a Google.

If it's new I'd return it mate. An intervalometer makes life so much easier.
