  1. It was designed to get clubs to take the Europa league seriously . Good incentive .
  2. My memories terrible . Did poo start off in the EL or did they drop into it via the CL ? I don't agree with the latter but if they win the Europa then they deserve their CL place . And the top 4 will go too . Man Citeh messed up to everyone else's advantage.
  3. I'm counting on your lot catching Spuds lol But more importantly beating Citeh
  4. That was the scenario if Citeh had won the champions league .This scenario is the same as Spain last season . Poo win the Europa and we get the 5 Unless poo finish 4th
  5. If you snip the hook in half with side cutters you leave nothing to chance . Shank just slides out . Sorted
  6. Buzz . Every single TOP team has under performed this season . If EVER Arsenal were to win the PL again this had to be the year. But , and I hope Dal won't mind me saying , they choked again when it mattered . Both Manchester Clubs , Chelski and , less surprisingly Liverpoo have underperformed and this was Arsenals chance . It's how Leicester have managed to win the title and also the reason why the Mighty Hammers have been threatening the elite as well . Tottenham have been there or thereabouts for a few years now without actually threatening to win anything so after this season their fans' persistent illusions of grandeur will be a little closer to becoming reality and a return to the "glory glory days" of 50+ years ago . With the new Tv deal kicking in next season the Big Boys are going to spend BIG , as are the rest of the clubs , so it's highly unlikely imo Leicestets success will be repeated . Another factor that has to be considered is that both Spuds AND Leicester have been lucky this season with next to no injuries or suspensions . Leicester also went out of both domestic cups early so had no other distractions whereas Spuds have done well to be up there having the Europa circus to contend with. On a lighter note , my beloved West Ham had 7 first choice offensive players out injured for a 2 and a half month period mid season and there are some who are saying that if they had been as lucky as the top two , injury wise , then they would be a lot higher than their current 5th/6th position . I'm not even going to mention the atrocious refereeing decisions either :) I wasn't careful what I wished for though . SAM OUT !!!
  7. I hate Leicester . They are a bunch 'orrible nasty snidely cheating cloggers . But rather them than the Spuds
  8. Pulled one back have they Dal ? I'd rather your lot win at Citeh

    Zig rig

I know I repeat this on pretty much every zig thread but Nashy has a theory that Carp spend up to 90% of their time OFF the bottom . If I can find the article I'll post it
  10. If a fish can move Boilies with a swish of its tail then the hooky will fly up into its gob faster . Even better
  11. Senseless waste mate . They didn't die totally in vain though . Football has gone from one of the riskiest spectator sports to what is probably the safest in the world . At least in this country .
  12. I though long & hard whether to post this or not but it's the way I feel and not intended to upset anybody , especially Stevo . The real tragedy here is that it was a 'special occasion game' so there were far more kids there than was usual during the 70's & 80's. Because of the violence and terracing a lot of mums were reluctant to let their kids attend a football game in that era but this was a semi final, at a different stadium and a day out. The demographic of the crowd was quite different that day and that also added to the loss of life . . . . . . put simply a child just can't resist the crush of a crowd in the way and fit man in his mid 20's can. It was perfectly normal as a kid at West Ham in the North Bank (Trevor Brooking behind the goal for all you youngsters) to be swept forward when a goal was scored and temporarily lose sight of your father. It was actually quite normal for all the kids to be put down the front by their parents. We were packed in like sardines and when grown men were jumping around excitedly it was almost impossible to stay in your position so I can absolutely understand how this tragedy happened. I feel very sorry for the Mum's who packed their kids off to watch a football game that day and never saw them return. Terrible . . . . . truly terrible. The way the police dealt with the ticket-less fans and their decisions and failure to cooperate caused panic and death. The police covered up their failings for a long time and it is completely wrong and corrupt. The fact that there were ambulances outside that could not get in was incompetence in the extreme and cost lives. All the above is true but there are a serious number of Liverpool fans who turned up that day without a ticket and started pushing and trying to gain entry to such an extent that they forced a panic decision on the police. They are also culpable and caused death. They had recent form in Heysel and even though the Juve fans and Police weren't blameless that day the Liverpool fans actions was in the minds of the police at Hillsborough. Justice for the 96? Perhaps? The victims families have undoubtedly been lied to and lost their loved ones unnecessarily. However I can't quite shift the image of Liverpool fans waving flags around the other day and announcing 'we always knew Liverpool fans were innocent' . . . . . . they weren't. A large number (hundreds) were equally to blame for the crush that day and now that is being swept under the carpet in the same way the policing and stewarding incompetence and corruption were swept under the carpet in any of the previous 27 years. The sign above the Liverpool town hall reads 'Truth & Justice' . . . . . . . . . I don't think either is accurate.
  13. In my experience each "Wafter" has slightly different buoyancy therefore each hookbait has to be individually trimmed or customised to suit your terminal tackle . I found the best way was to ditch the actual Wafter hookbaits and use a pop up with a shot on the hair fished KD style . Yes , in that scenario , the hook lies flat to the lakebed . To me , if it doesn't implies that the hookbait isn't critically balanced enough , if that makes sense , and if the hook is lifted slightly means the hooky is slightly too buoyant . Whether it would affect your chances of catching I doubt very much
  14. Brob . Welcome matey . Listen to the Cyborx . He has just recommended word for word what I would have suggested . Unless very snaggy or casting 120yards+ there's no need for a leader of ANY material let alone Leadcore . Like me , simple is good
  15. You can get em cheaper if you hunt well enough https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/222089837973
  16. Twas actually probably our worst performance of the season but delighted with the season overall , we have our club back at last .Love your last sentence . Ready to admit you were wrong yet ?
  17. She was a proper hottie at one time
  18. Well Clay is usually pretty firm so if it's a clear and clay bottom a bottom bait would suffice (to me) for starters . Everything else depends on how paranoid you are re rig camouflage . What colour is the Clay (there are several possible types) ? You WILL find a braided hook link to match the Grey and Reddy/Brown varieties amongst the Sufix range . I know as I own them although the names escape me at the mo but a quick google of their range would do the trick . But then again you won't get better camouflaged hook links than one made from mono or Fluorocarbon ? As for lead arrangements , each to their own but to me less is more and even more unobtrusive is a simple running lead on your mainline rather than a bloomin' great lead clip and semi-fixed lead . Again it all depends on how clear the water is and how paranoid you are re rig camouflage .....
  19. I'd be inclined , in that case, to have a butchers at the Tacklebox line test chart to determine the tie breaking strains and diameters of well established lines . But if I was "upping " my artillery I wouldn't be considering Fluorocarbon as it usually breaks well below the stated b.s's and is like tow rope
  20. Hi Adam may I ask the question why ?
  21. I have one Muft . Never used it in an actual fishing situation but I have had a cast or ten over my local park lake a few afternoons when practising my spodding and it's much better than a Spomb imo , opens every time , the pigeon grub I was using doesn't get in the internals like a Spomb and casts really well . It was recommended to me by Mik ( Carprecheur) and I'm glad I invested in one whilst I had the spare cash . Also Dal swears by his .
  22. Thanks men
  23. Pardon me fellas . I've read the last few posts and having difficulty following it . Phil or Adam , the reason for tubing as opposed to naked is ? Humour me
  24. I reckon float legering a heavily ground baited margin is the way to go young man . Maybe even the above utilising a swim feeder of some sort or a baitdropper .
