  1. There is a free fishing website http://www.dofreefishing.com/
  2. Lots of information on this thread http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=25930&highlight=snetterton
  3. Funnily enough you could be wrong. I probably am
  4. I need to learn some more knots. The blood knot is the only one I can get to bed down nicely and my thinking is a well tied blood knot has got to be better than a badly tied grinner or palomar knot
  5. This thread has the most replies for Orchid Lakes. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=33588&highlight=orchid
  6. I found this on a thread from 2006.
  7. Why is that Krs? I use the bloodknot for attaching the mainline or end of rigs to swivels. I always blob the end with a lighter just in case.
  8. I would have suggested use a better camera but you're already on the case Maybe try filming it while you are on the bank for that more authentic fishing look Another thing you could do is to take close up pictures of the rig components needed to make the rig and just put them in with descriptions before you show the filming part. If you use the 'zoom in' effect on the pictures it can slowly zoom in on them so you can see them more clearly.
  9. This is the only information I can find on the forum.
  10. If the waiting list is 3 years long, maybe you'll be up to the challenge once you've got 3 years more experience and it may be worth putting your name down just in case?
  11. There are 7 listed in the North Wales section of this link, I've never been to any of them so couldn't tell you what they are like. http://www.fishing.visitwales.com/fe/default.asp?n1=135&n2=140&level=3 There is also Llyn Y Gors which is on Anglesey. http://www.llynygors.co.uk/
  12. Is this the same place? Lake 4 http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=32036&highlight=valdore Lake 3 http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=29913&highlight=valdore
  13. I fish with my lines fairly slack and still have a flying backlead on for good measure There's not much weed in my current water though.
  14. Here's some threads on free lining that may be useful. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=36913&highlight=free+lining http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=36272&highlight=free+lining http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=31528&highlight=free+lining http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=11099&highlight=free+lining
  15. Nice tip to help reduce carbon emissions I saw Matt Hayes give this tip on a fishing program before. I do this to my mainline to straighten it out if its coiling.
  16. I tie a loop and put the bait on as I find it better to tie rigs with the bait already on so I can see the gap between the bait and the hook. Then I slide the piece of tubing down onto the hooklength then put the hook through the tubing making sure not to cut into the hooklength. The gap can then be adjusted between the hook and bait then its ready for the knotless knot.
  17. There are a couple of reviews on this thread from September 2007 http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=29678&highlight=etoile
  18. Some stunners there, thats a massive gut on the mirror, well done
  19. It looks like you had a good trip, well done
  20. If you want our swim pounded with soap then go there if not then pm me;) Thats quite a claim to make Joe
  21. Here's a couple http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=22479&highlight=tubing+mainline http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=16893&highlight=thread+tubing
  22. I would recommend Korda IQ, hasn't let me down yet, I've used both 12 and 15lb.
  23. The weather should be better the further South you go. I fished a lake 7 hours South of Calais (Limoges area) at the end of March beginning of April last year, the nights were cold but the days were OK. I even managed to catch 11 through the week.
  24. Of course you can - have a bead and swivel under the float and tie a weak bottom link and bomb to it. i can't see much point in abandoning leads at a £1 a chuck 'Franks Leads' work out at about 66p with postage.
  25. Looking around i have noticed that you can get the korda IQ hooklink stuff extra soft or just normal . Which one should i use? i don't really understand the different version thing, would the extra soft break easier? I use the normal IQ, I haven't tried the extra soft hooklink yet.
