  2. Some for sale here... http://www.frenchpropertylinks.com/buying.asp?feature=LAK I thought they would be a lot more expensive than that I thought I'd have to win the lottery but it looks possible on 5 numbers plus the bonus ball There's loads of sites if you type fishing lakes for sale in france into google.
  3. I fished Whelford in August 2007 and had a couple out, 19lb 5oz & 16lb 10oz. I fished the top swim on the left and baited up the corner. I caught them on Mainline Activ 8 boillies over a bed of groundbait, hemp, pellets, boillies and corn made into balls. I liked the place it was fairly busy but its a nice little lake. The website says the fish range from 12-29lb with the average size being 19lb. Area I baited up. 19lb 5oz 16lb 11oz
  4. I've used Hybrid and don't mind it. My current UK PB was caught on a hybrid rig because I'd run out of IQ.
  5. Not sure if these links are of any use? I've fished Whelford Pools and Wildmoor Waters and liked both places. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=27977&highlight=gloucester http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?p=90504#90504 http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=39016&highlight=gloucestershire http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=9938&highlight=gloucestershire
  6. Longleat has plenty of 20's and allows night fishing, never been myself though. My brother in law and another mate have fished there and seem to like the place.
  7. This is the most recent thread on the forum from 2007. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=29468
  8. I usually have a gap of around 10mm give or take a few mm's and don't have many problems with my hookhold. I'd suggest try some rigs with a 5mm and 15mm gap to see if that makes a difference. Carp feed differently in different lakes so what works in one lake may not work in another.
  9. Have a look on this thread. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=33954&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

  13. I voted eyed hooks, I've never used spade hooks so didn't have much choice My current favourite hook is Kamasan B775 Barbed Carp Specialist Hooks.
  14. I bought a pack of these a couple of years ago, I think I had solar ones. I think I have 1 or 2 left but lost all the others. The pack I had also came with rubbers for hiding the quick change link and swivels. I thought they were quite good and also very easy to set up, I think i'll have to buy another packet or two and give them another go.
  15. Here is the website. http://www.sevenoaksfishfarm.co.uk/ I've been there twice but not for about 2 years, its quite small and has far too many pegs on the coarse lake, its more suited to pleasure anglers or novices to carp fishing. I don't think the carp go much bigger than mid doubles and are mostly singles. I've tried most of the venues around South Wales and Hendre wins easily.
  16. Hendre Lake, St Mellons, Cardiff is probably the best runs water in South Wales. 6 acres, Carp up to mid 20's, average size about 10-12lb mainly commons. Tickets are £6 per day, £30 day syndicate, £60 night syndicate most of the action comes at night so its well worth going on the night syndicate. If you have any more questions just ask. Others in the area are: Duffryn Springs, Cardiff http://www.dyffrynsprings.co.uk/home/index.html Cefn Mably, Newport http://www.cefnmablylakes.co.uk/ Peterstone Coarse Fisheries, Newport http://www.freewebs.com/peterstonefishery/index.htm Hazel Court Ponds, Cowbridge http://www.hazelcourtponds.co.uk/ This link shows what I caught from Hendre Lake from May - November 2008 http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=34825&start=0
  17. Welcome to the forum There are a couple of threads on Etoile Lake: http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=33190 http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=29678&highlight=etoile+lake
  18. I had a quick look on the search and found this: If you type catfish into the search facility, click on search all terms and pick the UK Predator and Abroad forum there are 2 pages of catfish threads. Hope this helps
  19. Haven't been yet, but will do one day its takes just as long for me to get there as it would the Gloucestershire area. Can't help with the cats sorry, I haven't tried fishing for them yet.
  20. If you're going there for 5 nights you'll be pleased to know the toilets are very clean and they also have a shower. There is a lot of birdlife there as well and a couple of very cheeky swans. They wiped my lines out within 5 minutes of me casting my 3rd rod
  21. Have you checked their website? This link shows what tactics they suggest. http://www.wildmoorwaters.co.uk/html/tactics___bait.html I went there for 2 nights in April 2008, I didn't catch anything but its a nice, well run fishery and I would go back again. Although its not the biggest of lakes the owner Andy showed us around and he was quite helpful, he suggested which swim to fish and showed us the boundaries for where to cast in our swims so people are not casting into each others swims. This is the swim I fished from, there wasn't any weed there.
