  1. Hoping to get a week in at the end of July and wanted any updated info on the place if anybody has fished it recently I've had a quick search on here but not a great deal really Thanks in advance
  2. what name and brand please?? There are numerous brands out there and it all depends on what you're wanting from it, to what you buy There are very supple soft options that will act a little like braid with its freedom to move right up to a very stiff bristle filament which would be similar to some of the harder coated braids
  3. There's plenty of fluorocarbon hooklinks out there

    eBooks

Are there any good fishing books available as ebooks?
  5. with one of these Edit - For some reason read that and my brain tricked me into thinking it said Stick Klips These ones....
  6. Oh and theres also some directly to the South Would like to find out as its only about 90 minutes from Calais

    Leadcore

Not 100% sure but some of the hooks and swivels look a little large to be used by a normal carp angler possibly some kind of poaching set up with a numerous hook set up

    Leadcore

Not sure if this has been posted before but a shocking scene
  11. Thats all you need really for a few hours after work. 1 rod, small tackle bag and a loaf or bread on a small water catching a few, no need to sit around a 30 acre lake where the chance of a beep in that short space of time is slim to none
  12. Cheers for that JB, I'll have a word with Kev when I pop in next
  13. A lot of commercials will offer a discounted evening ticket from about 5pm to 11pm And try this not read myself so not 100% if still accurate http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=38573
  14. I know that feeling being on edge and looking around your bivvy for the biggest blade or heaviest object especially more when I'm on the river I had one incident many years back fishing a lake called Sampford Peverell which is smack bang next to Tiverton Parkway rail station. Had just dozed off in the tent (couldn't afford a real bivvy back then) when I heard a a bit of commotion and some lads stumbling past the bivvy, so started to panic thinking what little gear I had at the time was gonna get robbed and probably get a kicking at the same time, but luckily for me they were very apologetic and had just got off the train and missed the footpath that ran directly behind the hedge on the bank I was fishing so tried cutting through the ponds instead
  15. Sounds very similar to what you described, think its a case of Chinese whispers myself
  16. on a serious note I use these now atleast it would give a fore warning if anything were to occur
  17. Great help from the owners, I asked if they could give me any idea of the stock levels, sizes, recent catches and whatnot the kinda things you like to have an idea about a venue but the refused to give me the info Think I may give it a miss all sounds a little bit clicky and dont like outsiders
  18. Thats correct just got a response from them on that Seems to be hell of a difference in price though from a £12 day ticket water to a huge £60 if the ticket shop was shut and you couldn't get in advance
  19. I emailed them and this was their reply I'm very confused with their pricing though. Is it £60 for a permit plus another £12 to fish or £60 on the day but only £12 in advance
  20. Fished peg 7 Friday til Monday, the swims are now all sorted with gravel topped with bark so was ideal with this wetter weather. I personally blanked but my old man (peg 8 ) had a fish known as Lumpy out at 24lb 14oz while his mate in 9 had the most action but was able to fish to the bank with the outlet As you said yourself this is a very under fished venue when you talk to the few other anglers around. It does have a little caravan park onsite and a few cabins behind the far bank with hot tubs which did cause for a little noise with the drunken mums singing along to Rod Stewart and Tina Tuner all night but this did save my batteries on my radio and was funny listening to them slurring & giggling like school girls come 10 o'clock I'd happily fish here again and hopefully get in 1 or 10
  21. just found out its £50 a day, ouch!
  22. Doing the Euro Millions again this week gotta buy me one of those places
  23. How about this Ross as an idea Try float fishing your nymphs. Tie like a wet fly with enough weight and do the reverse of a sub float whereby you can still adjust the depth you're fishing at but using a surface controller float if you follow so nothing is gonna get bogged down in the weed
