  1. Other things needed 1. Spare set of bulbs for your motor 2. Warning triangle kept in the front of the motor as maybe unaccesible in a rear end shunt. 3. Light adjusters 4. First aid kit
  2. I'm pretty sure you need a high vis vest for every traveller on board. Cheapest place to get them is Poundland for a Pound each lol.
  3. Fantastic read, the work and effort he puts into his fishing is amazing. Found this book an inpiration to me and makes me want to get back out after a certain carp i've been targeting for years.
  4. Well thats the way of the world for a lot of carp anglers nowadays BIGGEST IS BEST. Now for me it's more about the overall experience and enjoyment not just the size of the fish. The surroundings, company, etc all go towards what makes a fishery not just the size of fish. France or the UK i could fish for monsters but i want more than that in my fishing and what a capture means to me is more important than size alone.
  5. The chance to fish with a group of mates in nice surroundings without being pestered by all the muppets that seem to have taken over carp fishing in the UK. To me a week chilling out is more important that the size of fish, i use my French trips to get a bend in the rods and to relax for a week without the stress of life back home.
  6. Best runrig is the Enterprise snag safe clips with any buffer bead
  7. Rosehill on the A41 up towards Market Drayton is syndi go have a chat with the Guy who lives in the Mill house next door. You have field aston just out of newport basically an old irrigation Res, Stoogi on here and give you some info on it. Other than that you are looking at Rob Hales waters which are all exclusive and exspensive have a look at his website Rob Hales fisheries. As for tips for Trench Time and lots of it
  8. Not much decent carp fishing in this area unless you manage to get on one of the few decent syndi's in the area. Trench, Middle, Wide waters and Blue pool on the telford ticket are good 20s waters. A few of the other telford waters such as Apley, dandy are good runs waters. dawley AA have a couple of waters at hinkshay/stirchley that have a few fish in them and the Withy pool in telford park is day ticket with plenty of doubles in it. Day ticket waters inc Bayliss which is off junc 4 of the M54 lots of fish but also lots of anglers.
  9. Not to sure i'm mostly into barbel now. Are you local to Telford?
  10. All those fish are around the 22/23 mark from memory. Thay were caught about 3 years ago and the fish were putting on about 1.5lb a year. I have heard of some 25/26lb fish this year but let me warn you that if the weed is up and it looked bad back in Feb then you will struggle to fish the water. Try 01952 503550 (rod and Gun) for ticket info.
  11. That fish is the same one as the first pic. Yes pay on the bank but it's only £23 a year for the year book and the middle is on the same ticket, night fishing is allowed on both waters.
  12. Dont blame me you're over 18 (a long way over 18)
  13. It's a good 30 off Manor on the linear complex. Will stick a couple of the trench fish up in a bit.
  14. I'm sure that somewhere on here there will be a few post's about Trench. I have spent a few years of my life on the place and more than a few quid in the Blue Pig the boozer on the banks of it. A very hard water which is usually choked with weed low carp population and a huge population of tench. Its shallow and the birds do your head in. A large amount of the banks are formed of very large rocks which are extremely dangerous to fish off and many of us carry extensive scars from falling on them. Some nice fish though and in my eyes a far more challenging water than the middle over the road which to me is a dump although the fish do hit the 30lb mark.
  15. The second one is in shropshire and it's on the Chetwynd deer park estate. Private with no fishing at all.
  16. Not riggy on the mighty river Severn but then again only a few of us are mad enough to target so few fish in 220 miles of water so no pressure on them. I know that i wouldnt stand a chance using something like a size 10 with a decent fish and a strong flow on the Severn, give me a proper bit of steel in their gob any time.
  17. River carp are simple creatures and not at all riggy. I use a nice strong size 4 hook, 25lb cortex link and what ever size running lead i need to hold in the flow. Rigs are about 10" long and that has caught me a few river carp over the years.
  18. Dont Edens do a hire package?
  19. I can whole heartedly recommend Rushes to you. It is exactly what you are looking for, good fishing, great food and fantastic location.
  20. Not much in this area, you have Patsull and Fosters run a couple of waters. I think the guy in Bushbury tackle shop runs a small syndi but not sure how big the fish go. There is a small syndi on the A41 at Newport with some decent fish but it is just a hole in the ground IMHO. Good luck in finding somewhere mate but i dont think you will find a decent water easily.
  21. Why do you think they are more blatent to smaller carp and not just as blatent to larger fish. I've caught carp of all sizes on pop ups over the years but i do prefer bottom bait presentations for the majority of my fishing.
  22. Less than two weeks to go, better go sort out the gear and bait before it ends up being a last minute rush. PS. pm for you Kim
