It doesn't! The braid I use for my hook length is normally used for mainline. Now it makes sense Though I wouldn't use a mainlind braid for hook lengths. It's usually much a thinner diameter, which can cut into the carp's mouth.

I was going to say that i've always tied my own rigs, then realised it's only in the last few months that i've stopped using shop bought chod rigs.

What's the lake bed made up of? Clay, silt, weed, gravel etc. More often than not simple variations on the knotless knot (rig length, hair length etc) will do the job. (http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=54131)

I have the G2s & they haven't missed a beat. One of them even went for a quick swim. Drained the water from it & switched it on 10 minutes later. Worked a treat.

I would lengthen the hair a little & lose the shrink tubing. It may pay to only make one change at a time, that way you can be sure which (if any) change makes the difference. -

I once had a barbed hook embed itself into the palm of my hand. It was very early in the morning & there was no way i was going to hospital. So i thought i'd man up & push it through. As i pushed it through i did a little dance & almost peed myself. Not quite as manly as i'd hoped

Yep. Just make sure that the 2nd bead can move freely. You can use pva tape to help keep it in place on the cast.
