  1. If I can manage 48 hours like that I'll be one very happy camper More luck than judgement. I picked a spot, put out about 4 kilo of boilies (followed by my two rods) then sat back all weekend. It was years ago, long before i knew about marker rods or such. Very little skill, very lucky.
  2. I have fond memories of Bluebell lake. My PB tench & bream came from there, along with two 20+ carp. All in a 48hr session. Plus the fact that it is a beautiful place to be. I really must get back there sometime.
  3. Yes. 2nd bead or top bead is rod end. Well, it is to me
  4. Yep. Just make sure that the 2nd bead can move freely. You can use pva tape to help keep it in place on the cast.
  5. What's the point of the lead clip, tail rubber & third bead?

Have a look for a diamond threader, if you still have trouble.
  7. Welcome to the forum Johnny. Can you turn the caps off please? It's awful to read & is seen as shouting on a forum. Where in the Midlands are you, & where have you fished?
  8. I like BS Ken, he's a nice bloke but he's not to be taken too seriously I'm very grateful to Mick (Leggs) for showing me Anchor Meadow. It's a lovely stretch of river & holds some very nice fish. I have nothing but good memories of the place & return as often as i can.

    Isn't that an oxymoron?

  11. I thought Blackfords was a club?
  12. It isn't cheap at £7.50 per rod (unless you know the bailif really well ) but fish it right & you'll only need the one rod.
  13. A few may have gone, but it left more than enough at the time.
  14. The stock is quite high in all 3 pools. I've fished there a few times over the years & only had 1 blank. Barbless hooks & no boilies (from memory)
  15. No, Dennis hasn't been bailif for years. Bill (the guy with the gun) does the job much better.
  16. You make a reasonable point, but i stand by my statement. In my experience on this forum, when a new member asks for loads of specific answers, they often receive very few. I'd rather you avoid that. Either way, i hope you find some info.
  17. I'm amazed that no one has answered all those questions. There must be someone willing to give away every bit of info they've learned about the venue
  18. Could that be a typo for Merrington? If not i think Berrington Hall Pool is a SSSI.
  19. Hi. This is the only post i could find on the forum http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=43770&highlight=lionheart
  20. No doubt caught by Jez or his lad. If it swims in Telford, they've either caught it or knows the bloke that did
  21. It impressed me enough to book a weekend on there. Sometime in May, i think... I got the impression that it's not run as a money making scheme. The owners seem to have the best interests of the fish at heart. A rare commodity these days.
  22. Some info here http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=48511
  23. Mussels, prawns, cockles etc are all good baits.
