  1. Mod I used the seach facility to find this Anyone been here recently? More importantly does anyone know if it is still frozen?!?
  2. Depending on the time of year you are looking to go; I would fish the method, 3 inch hooklength of 5 pound line, hair rig an 8mm pellet to a size 12 hook. 8 pound mainline. Use soaked micros for the method feeder, making sure to bury your hookbait. I wouldnt go there to Carp fish it myself - its really a match lake, average size of fish is about 5 pounds, and there are hundreds of them in there.
  3. Thanks for the tips guys I did manage to get catch one in France using the snowman with the bottom bait sliding on the hair, so may give that a go in the future.
  4. I have a bit of a numpty question regarding the snowman rig, after a bit of a search I am still stumped With the snowman rig my bottom bait slides down the hair and sits against the hook and leaves a gap between the bottom bait and the pop up. How do I resolve this?
  5. Thanks for the info to all. Still 6 months till I go and can't wait! Already thinking about tying up rigs!!! Interesting to hear that lots of small carp have been taken out, makes me think that a large bed of bait maybe a good idea for a weeks fishing. Any chance of knowing what the new bait was that was beeing trialled? My bet is it was Polar Bears!?
  6. Right Mike, have been having a look through at various websites; 1. Keep it simple, as the last guy said - do what you would do in England. 2. It is reported that there are not may snags in the lake, so no real need for safety clips etc. 3. Lots of people have told me that there are hundreds of carp under 10lb in the lake, and a good way of going for the bigger fish is to avoid spodding and large beds of pellet. Try just feeding large boilie and don't be afraid to use very large boilie for the hook. 4. Catcherbaits boilies seem to do well and have some kind of partnership with the lake I believe. I'll continue scouting around for info as I want to try to get as much help as possible to ensure we make the most of our time over there. Will let you know what I find!! P.S would be grateful for a catch report when you return as I am going in May!
  7. I'm also off to France for the first time next summer, and am also going to Rushes! Hopefully this thread will help us both out!!
  8. I too am thinking about going there next summer. There is another website which has lots of reviews and reports of the lake. I have sent you a PM
  9. Thanks for the messages. One lake in particular we are looking at is Rushes Lake so is interesting to see that spawning is often late April!
  10. Thanks for the replies. Thinking about hiring tackle but alot of places don't hire the reels. Have found a few places though so maybe thats the better bet.
  11. thanks for the informative reply. interesting, never really though about april. just my luck that when we go the fish will be spawning and we will blank!!
  12. so which month of the year is it best to go carping in france? when do they generally spawn?? thanks
  13. Hi, am looking at going to France next year for the first time. Have some Shimano 5000 gte b reels. Think these would be good enough for 8 - 12 acre lakes with fish approaching 40 pounds?? thanks
  14. Hi, does anyone have any info on this place other than what the website says? Has anyone been there? Thanks Pete
  15. Im looking into going to France for the first time next summer with a friend. What we would like is a complete all inclusive package, including tackle hire - rods, bivvys etc. Can someone please recommend a few venues??? Thanks, Pete.
