Gosfield Lake I heard about this Lake years ago, and know where it is and that there is Water Skiing on the same Lake and that there were plenty of Matches won with Skimmer Bream. I also heard of a few BIG Carp in there, just wondered if anyone knows anymore about it regarding Fish Sizes. I know what the Rumour Mill says, but would like to know the Truth if anyone is able to say any more. What is the cost of Season Ticket? Is it an easy or Hard water for the Carp?

The one I had tied I had a normal hair going down the Shank, and the 2 top baits were in place with a Loop of nylon going under the Knotless knot at the top and the baits held in place on that

Litter is an Absolute PET HATE of Mine. From bits of line and general Rubbish. I must admit to dropping my Tab end of Roll Ups, but since its paper and tobacco only and NO Filter. Yet Filter ends I pick up and put in the bin bag. I seem to go home with more litter than I know I made, carrier bags and Bait Bucket almost always filled up with mine and what I picked up The strangest thing though, why do people take great care in pushing a Bag of Litter into the Deepest darkest Brambles, risking Life and Cuts and Prickles? it takes less effort to take it home. The absolute worst though has to be people who can't be bothered to tidy up after having a Dump on the Bank, leaving Excrement and Bog roll about is disgusting. BAG IT AND BIN IT or BURY IT!

Alton is very hard for Carp Fishing, and the size and Rules make it even harder. Its over 350 acres in size There are a few Carp in there, to over 30lbs, but there is NO Night Fishing allowed, there are No Fishing Areas. Anyone who catches Carp out of the Reservoir will have done: a) a lot of hard work finding them b) almost definitely broken the rules

The Water Knot when its tied smoothly does go through the rings easily. Definitely one that needs practice though

Carp-R-Us Clearwater. It knots well, and also has a bit of stretch, unlike most Fluorocarbons. I nearly always use a Uni Knot on it, although it does take the Loop Knot well at the swivel end

Its one of the SafeZone Silt Rig leaders that were sold, before they decided to change them, that I pulled in at SWP. It wouldn't release the Lead or Rig no matter how much Trevor the Bailiff and I pulled. The lead was totally jammed in place. It even cut off my Marker Braid and was snapped off with about 30metres of Line trailing from it, totally jammed up with weed.

Wonder if it will come back to Haunt him? (The Book that is)

The Scorpion and the Snake rig were Creations that I think Martin Clarke came up with on a Very hard Water in the South of the Country. Also from Memory I think they were Published in The Korda guide to Rigs Apparently he had some very good fish on them. I don't know whether he lowered the rigs in or cast them, but I do know that they worked

Had a couple of Lost fish with a Stiff Hair on 15lb Amnesia, continuation of the Hooklink and a Knotless Knot. Think it was me being lazy and not bothering to tie a D-rig set-up for a Snowman presentation. I prefer a Supple hair with a Stiff rig set up, so I tend to use 4lb Mono or Hair Braid with Stiff Rigs

Sorry, Reading that Statement I realised it doesn't sound quite right. The Softer Materials won't be so Obvious to feel as the Mono/Fluorocarbon or Coated Braid (with Coating) on the Lip. To me it almost feels like an Electric Shock Now I know that Carp do not feel like we do, and that they take in stones, Twigs and sticks. Yet under tension then a Stiffer Hooklink may give the Carp some feeling. That feeling may be enough to make them wary. Best get off that subject now though as I have taken it off Topic , thats another Thread entirely about Hooklink Materials
