This Lake is shaped like a Horseshoe, with the side nearest the Entrance being the shallower of the 2 sections. The 25 acre Big Fish Water holds some fantastic looking fish including the catchable "Grey Tail". There are something in the region of 5 different 30lb plus Carp, and the inimitable Carrot, a Bright Orange Koi, that comes out around the 25lb Mark There's everything you need at this place including; toilets, showers and a great cafe which delivers food directly to your swim if required. The problem with SWP is that you can be doing very little wrong but blank for months, or equally be a complete muppet and catch on your first trip. Location is mega important and the Carp don't normally respond to Stalking tactics. Small Roach can tear a Bait apart in hours. I've seen quite a few people fish a bare hook without realising it overnight!

lol, probably either or both, depending on which pic you use. If you use the one I put on first then a Pop-up on the single, and 2 bottom Baits. Or try 3 bottom baits. For the other set-up then either popped up or on the bottom.

The Double Surgeons Knot (Water Knot), on the same Site, or this knot: Its more simple than it looks. Tie an Overhand Knot in the Stiff Material (as per Pic) with the braid going through it and then Uni Knot (on stoogi's linked site) down the Stiff material.

Cripes! You really need a picture of a Maggot Clip? or a picture of a Maggot clip attached to a loop at the end of the Rig? . The Maggot clip comes from Korda! imagine it tied onto a Ring or a Hair loop at the end of the rig

On a loop they actually come off quite easily. I played around with them and tested them and won't use them.

Totally agree Tony. After all the hype about the korda maggot clips when they came out i went out a brought a packet, i took one look at them on the bank and binned them. I have got to say that i think they are the most over rated piece of end tackle that has been released in years. The gage of the wire is far too thick, the presentation is total pants, they are over priced and not to mention the damage one could cause if it happened to come undone while a fish is hooked. Zander go down the bait floss route it is cheaper, the presentation is far better and a lot safer. I agree totally.I said this from day 1,give me a bunch of maggots D rigged via a needle and cotton anyday just for natural appearance.Like you say if it comes undone or you break off during the fight the fish'll have 2 lumps of metal to contend with. Either the Needle and Hair braid/cotton or a Medusa Rig everytime for me. Since its possible to make maggots float though the Braid/cotton presentation looks far more natural than a ball of maggots on a cork ball popped up Not sure its just you. My Mate bought some and they burst just about every single maggot he tried putting on them the point was so blunt, and that was the smaller size.

A pop-up is a bait that is fished off the bottom and weighted down so that it is at a fixed Distance above the bottom of your choice. Normally overweighted in most cases. Yet to critically balance a bait is so that the hook and Hookbait only just sinks, almost neutral buoyancy,behaving like a free bait. It can be a single bait or a multiple presentation. Best way to do that is to decide if it is: a) too buoyant, then add tiny pieces of putty to the rig or trim the pop-up, until it only just sinks. b) too heavy, then trim the bottom bait(s) so that the pop-up (foam, plastic corn etc) does the same effect of the almost neutral buoyancy. Does that help, or is anyone able to explain it better than that?

Drennan Double Strength, Drennan Sub Surface Green Fly Leader or Trilene XL. Think you will find Amnesia is miles too stiff.

Looped, Mantis version of a pop-up Rig that Ken Townley advocated in Big Carp. I use it for single critically balanced Pop-ups on slightly fluffy bottom, where I want the Pop-up to be just above the Bottom Layer. As can be seen from the Nylon attached to the Ring I TIE the Pop-up onto the ring, and use the small Tag under the Eye for the Counterbalance weight. The hook I have used is a Carp-R-Us Centurion in a size 6 Add a shot that won't quite sink the Bait and hook and then gradually enough putty so that it only just sinks. Or as has been pointed out, Snowman Baits, trimming either until you get it right
