  1. The eyebrow shaving was an experiment, not to be repeated. I looked very clean but permanently astonished. Oh, and no, I didn't pencil them back on. I grew them back in a fetching shade of grey. Greyness being to cause of the experiment........... Ian.
  2. Agree. It's good to see that someone's bold enough to be different. Wonder if they'd bring out my feminine side? Ian.
  3. Well, I'm spoiled for choice. I'll spend some time on YouTube and Ebay to see what suits best for me. Thanks for all the suggestions. Ian.
  4. Is there such a thing as a one man bivvy that's tall enough to stand up in? I've just got a syndicate ticket on a local water and the JRC 2-man XXL 2G Monster Thingy I usually use won't fit into several of the swims. I've grown used to the comfort and convenience of a tall bivvy but need a relatively small footprint. I'd be very grateful for any suggestions. Ian.
  5. You have an overwrap, the seriously extended sort. Ian.
  6. Just let me know please, Leon. I shall look forward to comparing the aches and ailments of maturity with Elmo. Oh, and a bit of fishing. Ian.
  7. Still got it, along with the extension piece for the groundsheet. Both are like brand new and are never used since I bought a bigger bivvy. Speak to me. Ian.
  8. Ashmire looks great to me. Who do I pay? I'd be up for 3 nights, too. Ian.
  9. September is good for me. Horseshoe is good for me, as would be Merrington. Ian.
  10. Yes please, Leon. Put me and my son Alan on the list. Not too fussed where or when. We're both self-employed so a few weeks notice of date would be useful. Ian.
  11. I've messaged Andy, asked him to look in on here with any advice he can offer. I've done Horseshoe several times and it's a bit special! I've mentioned all this to my son Alan and he's well up for it. oh, and your proposed dates would be fine with both of us. Ian.
  12. That was Andy Wilkinson aka Andy52. He and I are friends on Facebook. Would you like me to drop him a message to see if he's still a bailiff at Horseshoe? Ian.
  13. Yes please. I've done loads of them over the years and can honestly say I've enjoyed every one. I'll have a word with Stevo and see if he's up for it. Ian.
  14. I'll show Ali's clip to my son. He always uses dips and glugs of some sort. He'll definitely be up for trying something new. I'll probably have a go at it myself tbh Ian.
  15. Hi rayfish, welcome aboard. What's the fishing like in the north west? Plenty of waters to choose from or few and far between? Ian.
  16. Clifton Lakes complex now has a Facebook presence. Oh, and a contact number. 07845 746691. Ian.
  17. Best post so far. Ian.
  18. I've had good results using a popped up worm on the hair. I carry a syringe in my box, for injecting them with air. Ian.
  19. It will be time well invested, I'm sure. Ian.
  20. Thanks for that. I'll check them out. Ian.
  21. Hi hillen. Do you mind telling me which company you're renting the van from, please? I'm struggling to find one that allows foreign use. A Transit Custom or similar would be ideal. I'm in the Midlands, by the way. Ian.
  22. Couldn't agree more, Phil. It's verging on cruelty to land a fish and use an unhooking mat or cradle in these current temperatures. Do all the necessary while still in the water and as quickly as possible. Ian.
  23. Got to agree. Increasing numbers of fisheries only allow "proper" bivvies. I struggle to understand why but their place, their rules I guess. Ian.
  24. Tuckab, you might want to consider travelling a little north to Newark. Cromwell Lake is a cracking fishery and holds some big fish. Ian.
