Was "Given" a Bivvy + Wrap, the fella said he has misplaced the pole for the Bivvy Peak, so thought could use as a Day shelter and Sell the Wrap....
Upon setting up yesterday I found the Pole, told him and he wasn't bothered, so up for sale it went and sold a few hours later....
So that's the Airport money for Wednesday (Holiday to Egypt).

After a weld broke on my Sonik SK-Tec chair mid session I had to buy a new one online. Poetic justice in a way as I didn't like how the locking legs didn't...

Got down Fri night about 8pm, 3 of the swims down the windard end were taken and I didn't fancy fitting in between.
I thought they might push them out anyway and with cold night temps they might make their way up the other end.
Saturday 11am I see the first of around 15 - 20 shows over the course of an hour, some over the rods so wasn't a complete surprise when the left hander pulled up at 1pm.  A low double common 12.4lb, female still full of eggs (fish are so behind due to the influx of cold water), so I was made up, another swim caught from and a spot found back in March.
Sunday morning, they arrived at 10.30 with one crashing out against the island, then 3 subtle rolls at 11am just short of the rods.  11.15 I'm on the phone and notice the left hangers off and line out the clip but no bleeps whatsoever (no idea), pick up the rod and there's a weight on the other end and weeded up short of the spot, I pull it out and gain 10-20 yards and it's off, hook pull - damn!
Interesting it was the left rod both times especially as the fish arrived from right to left.  It was the only yellow bait - with corn in the mix so I'll take that forward next session, all 3 on yellow.

TBF I never collected them myself neither. My dad collected them. 
They're definitely worth revisiting if you can find them.

Somewhere, no idea where, I have the entire set. I can't claim to have collected them myself, they were a gift from a pal who was moving house and downsizing. Wonder where I put them.............

It's like a encyclopedia of fishing. 
Picked up a little tip about using paste on the hook from 1970s. Bit of bread crust on the hook then mould the paste around that but best of all I like the club rules especially rules 5 & 6

Woooow, going back a while there now, jeez.
I had 6 binders and (I think) I collected every issue, I can remember they were heavy when full.
Had everything in from Seafishing, were to fish in what weather conditions, what rigs and bait, tactics, tackle...

At the moment, it seems all the people I fished with have sold up and gone there seperate ways, but the 1 person I want/wanted to fish with the most is my Uncle and he is going more than ever now...
 

After going through some of my old posts I've just remembered one of my favourite groundbait bases. Go into your local animal feed supplier and look for Molassed Rabbit Mix, there are various brands available, some are more Molassed than others.
While it is vegetable based, the molasses is an attractor, and it is a good base if you add flake maize and a few pellets. 

Mainly manilla but I did have some Sticky Visuals.

Manilla Chops, Crumb, Few Wholes, Hemp, Manilla Stik Mix Dust and Manilla Glug/liquid. 

Did have some Krill for 1 other lake but never panned out...

Also Had some Munch Baits Bio Marine for another lake campaign, but that didn't take off either (Sopd all My Gear since)
