  1. My recipe for my home made bait cost is 11 quid a kilo roughly, going with a working title as Agent Orange due to how and where I want to fish it waters with lots of food and pond weed. A Very well packed HNV made with fresh natural products starting with 800 grams of the tropamino base mix seems best value by far the other 200 grams to make the kilo up will be a ground mix of haiths PTX, Prosecto and Robin Orange. Liquids other than eggs will be JBs liquid yeast and Essential baits fermented cranberry, I'm thinking I wouldn't need to add a flavour or sweetener to that mix. My only concern is would i need to include a small amount of binding flour to the 200 grams of haiths mix to make up what is normally the amount of flour in a kilo of tropamino base mix?
  2. Lol I will withdraw my critique of the local garage the amount of engine parts and plating they had to remove was a bit of a job as it would be on a performance motor. I wanted to get it done properly the Lucas starter is worth the extra 40 over a recon price I didn't ask about the one they took off the garage is honest so let them make what they can on parts. 160 labour costs is fair for a SUV Mrs got better news from hospital caught her cancer at stage zero so the treatment should be minimal it's why I got the car done this week she loves it did a oil change and that some new tyres had it running smooth.
  3. Wow I just got well humped by a local garage, mate warned me not to go there for parts, dude said he would get me a recon starting motor or try, I was willing to leave the car there for three days, same day as dropping it off rings me up to say it's done got me a brand new starter yeah I bet you did and passed full retail cost onto me he better still have the old one for me to collect or I will screw him that hard in the online reviews they will beg me to take a discount. 260 is full retail then there is a deposit to come off which is mine by law then there is the garage's wholesale account that gets them a discount from the parts supplier that's theres to do as they wish. 400 notes fitted I could of gone to a specialist and got a recon fitted for around 300 max, better still have the starter they took off.
  4. Carp angling is a victim of itself bait companies going out fast few of the good ones too. Then there is the lake management it becomes that intense you end up feeling like your on a garden pond fishing for pets, understandable when you think how much the stock cost. I mainly go for something to do I'm tempted to go back to afternoon/evening waggler fishing on differant day tickets.
  5. Freezing frost g9t to clean 5he car going in for a new starting motor on Monday they charge more is the inside is messy, must be down to it's last as it refuses more than starts got a lot of hospital appointments coming up best get it done.
  6. I will say the way things are with power packs the electric warmer seems best even my 20 size does my phone and ecig I reckon another one thesame size would do a heated cover.
  7. The gas they sell in the UK, the mix is not allowed in the USA think the max is 5 percent butane not sure if that's by regulation or demand those green coleman cans are the safest in the UK they fit the Mr Buddy heaters, it's why caravans use the red bottle flow gas.
  8. Sad news especially in this day and age the guy himself must of thought he was safe and should of been, the outdoor industry in this country is with out regulation it's not this guys mistake it's the equipment sold I really hope his family can get legal help as the gas they sell is a real problem and they know it, put a worthless warning on the can shouldn't make it OK to sell. Seriously if you must then find out a heater and gas that runs on propane I'm going by the gear they sell in the US you can get them but the difference between the two gases really needs to be on display in the shops.
  9. Just no way and I moan about Chris he never checked my set up once nor bait I just trod on too many toes being my charming self, trust me it's not a Internet personality. Still struggling to find window cleaners several guys I know are looking for cleaners the money is pretty good just no one wants to do it. It's legit as well you could still get universal credit as they are part time jobs 20 odd hours a week.
  10. I tempted to get a bit of bait rolling equipment problem is I can get carried away and end up overwhelmed. I don't care what they say unless they have a massive amount of ingredients that were bought in bulk and are near there best before date no way are any company halfing the price of a good bait other than a one off to clear stock at cost. Some of the companies that closed did the same cleared as much stock as they could before closing. Think whacker catcher, a very good bait has got a company to roll the bait so the Ecton Berry should be back for next year, I think they use a fermented elder berry like what essential sell, good attractor.
  11. Seems I have my own thread I best make use of it. Flavours for bait the ones you add to base mixes, could you use a dilution of say the plum or TM1 and add it to loose feed like a glug flavour which are horrid like cheap vape liquid. That TM1 is very unusual it's like a savoury caramel bun spice. Works really well in a yeast bait.
  12. One thing I have noticed about hook bait rolling is the colour the companies must add a colouring to everything they make most hookbait mixes are a off white colour not at all appealing to the angler. Where ever I fish this year I'm planning the big feed approach by that I mean a 15 kilo bag of dog muesli per session with a kilo or two of boilie mixed in that O'neals brand looks good.
  13. See if I didn't live smack dab in the centre of England, love sea fishing I like how it all runs on tide times there is no pick and choose it's getting out for those few hours when shoreline fishing.
  14. Think I will call into kwp today got an urge for canal pool me and my 10 footers save me some diesel this year if nothing else, Will be doing a bit on a nice dayticket someplace so many to choose from probably be bluebells would love to stay on Ecton but you need to live local for that sort of water it's very similar to KWP so may as well save the milage. My coxis is still singing out was at the hospital all day Thursday with a client so thought I would nip for a visit to small injuries... in the time it took for the other person to have two scans and a biopsy I was still waiting, I was told any small injuries sent up to A&E could face a 18 hour wait depending on arrivals. Mates Mrs is a nurse she done her coxis and there was noting they could do.
  15. Wow my own thread looks like it got more posts than the other 😇
  16. Oh just to clarify it's obv I like and have respect for Mr Berry what he does with lakes is a carp anglers dream the work he puts in is out of pure love for angling as he don't need to, his main fault in my opinion and most people are the same is his speed to judge people and a brutal form of mickey taking I have no problem with the latter as I'm a bit mean myself. Yes lake owners are on topic as they do the banning and the reason Chris removed my ticket is he could see it was a real struggle for me to pay for it when it went up to 700 for the year that was me out the game if I'm being honest... could of done me a weekday special.
  17. Hey it's the rants that get people posting. Hard to find a water that does allow leadcore some lakes pretty much insists on there own preferred set up and style of fishing. Take it you haven't seen the One Last cast products they do a all included lead leader.
  18. I'm 50 50 on doing a bit of waggler fishing just at a day ticket type place not going out over winter can put you at a miss when starting back, I got big plans for KWP next year going up this weekend see how things are and season pass costs. Might even go full on gran pops and join the caravan club up there. Price of fuel is no joke.
  19. After the local nature reserve blamed dogs for killing off most of the bird life they must of admitted to themselves there is a problem they were more honest this year and said it was either mink or otter. There is even talk of opening up what used to be called halting sites, for travellers but I think it will be more the van life crowd that are calling for it, hippies on the move working off the Internet.
  20. Too early Pictures of cute otters have been known to arouse the wroth of some. To be fair not sure if any follow wildlife stuff but even groups that do the bring back to nature projects are starting to get a little concerned by the numbers of both otter and mink, bit late now.
  21. The way prices are these days there's only two options for consistency either a good retail you can get anywhere or make your own, sticky, dna, mainline, cc moore that sort of bait. The small rolling companies are priced out can't run a unit for bait making back to the days of Fred in a shed knocking out a few kilo for themselves.
  22. Thinking about giving canal pool a good go always wanted too if not that then maybe jigsaw just not sure if I want to be travelling for regular fishing could do KWP as a regular and do a few of the fancy day ticket waters for a treat. Sod it sounds like a solid plan to me.
  23. Broken lin At 36 ish Post spawn little cue forming behind for a pic and back stab lol.
  24. Don't get me started on blackballed that guy is a doorman even when out fishing had him fuming too, he had to get on the phone to his Mrs for a talk down, something about a steroid flashback, scary guy... when propping a door open.🤑
  25. To be honest Chris is a nice bloke most of the time and his lakes are spot on without the fish, just don't let him see you with your manky paw in the salad bowl or whatever it is that sets him off Had the broken lin on my first year which I was accused of mishandling by another angler who asked if his daughter could get a photo with it, yeah sure pass it round. Think it went missing around two years later, also had the next biggest one and two of the moonscale style 30s, neer got to moonscale which would of made the three of the leather looking 30s. Strange how other anglers tell tales of mishandling fish even though it was in the lake a caught over the next few years, bit of a strange fella sees someone juggling a 30 gets a pic for his family then goes off like a vegan in the cheap tuna section.
