I used to fish for barbel with a quarter of a tin of spam! (The photo is only a sixth of a tin) The first time you cast it out, you feel like a complete noddy and can't believe it's going to work. I also caught plenty of chub as well. The photo is a genuine dropped run - you normally fish the bail arm open and allow a few seconds for the fish to get the bait into it's gob properly.

I was watching a Monster Carp in Hungary re-run on ITV4 and laughed at 'pest control' Spooner catching tiny carp on massive baits and hooks, with long hairs and with their baiting. Years ago I saw an article with somebody catching Carp on a bare hook over hemp, and tried it myself The fish were feeding so heavily on the hemp that the hook was sucked in. Feeding loads of groundbait, hemp and tiny particles can be the cause of this happening as it was on Monster Carp. You can just as easily catch roach or rudd on this method, (and I have). The hookbait was not catching (or attracting) fish it was the groundbait background feed. To avoid the smaller fish, stop the groundbait and feed just boilies. Anymore thoughts?

Don't think Sonik ever told any 1 about this, but they Cyamge there material on then1st edition bivvys, that's why I've ended up with 2 skins for the bivvy i got off a mate. He bought his the week they came out. The rear windows had no cover when rolled up. When I got mine I noticed it. So I contacted sonik and the sent him a full new Bivvy System Skin.

I would probably be a good mate, as you never know when you need one. But would he return them to you? You have PM thanks

Hi Elmo, Just had a quick look at the Bivvy, There's - 2 Zip Bivvy Bags, 2 Full Skins, 2 Full Fronts with all Doors, but Only 1 Groundsheet. So (eventually) i will swap the older Bivvy Skin and Full front for the New Skin and Front, so there will be a Spare Skin, Full Front and Bivvy Bag. Ooooo and also found these in the Bivvy wrapped up. Should I be a good mate and let him know ? Or should I think they were in the Bundle 🤔🤔🤔🫣🫣🫣

I only ever fish boilies, now. Anything else will catch bream (and lots of them) on the reservoir I fish, so it's a no brainer, for my style if fishing.
