This was from the weekend of Hellish 30' heat , fortunately myself and my mate were under the trees ,so it was quite bearable , this time of year when it is so hot in the sun ,my watercraft starts with ,where is the coolest place on the lake going to be 😊

Looks like a good lot of air gets through there... Had the new AXS Bivvy out at weekend, decent enough... Front n back vents, was a warm en... Out again this weekend at the local park lake (home of my CARP PB)

I had a little play the other weekend. No fish, but it was slow due to poor water quality. Something that looks so simple is actually tricky to get right. I had to tie a few before I was happy to put it out. What knot do you use to tie the hook carpepecheur? I don't often use Palomar knots, and didn't like the way it presented, so ended up with a queen blood knot. I used a wafter as referenced above, but found it moved along the hooklink upon return. So tied a figure of eight knot to help keep it in position. I will persevere with it on one rod next time out. (whenever that may be🙄)

Assuming we're talking about the Island lake, changing to bottom baits made a massive difference on there for me👍. Also hemp made a big difference. That's not the case mate. As you've said, carp get caught every day on the heli.

Very good bait back in the day. I'd love to think it's the same recipes but I doubt it if I'm honest. Alan would qualify as one of carp anglings true legends. RIP. No mate. If they're feeding on the bait and you're not getting takes it's more likely a presentation issue. Hitting single beeps is imo clutching at straws and not addressing the real problem (whatever that may be).

Like others I'm a little confused in it being said that they dont get away with it - I mean how would you know? I'm often using the bare multi rig for pop-ups which allegedly shows when ones been pricked as the hook is free to move with any tightening- well that's happened once in 5+ years and I've caught a fair few fish on it - so is that a wonder rig - it seems to nail everything that takes it, but I bet in reality I've been done countless times by takes so gentle it didnt prick itself at all. I met someone 30 odd years ago who'd designed a carps head that sucked in rigs for testing purposes - I laughed it off tbh if it were so good we'd all have them surely. You cant replicate what's going on with a palm test or fake fish head imo but its brilliant to think outside the box so I applaud it. Really just want to see the results compared to other rigs, who's tried it so far and what are the original posters results?
