    Carp to Coarse/Match

why not buy a cheap setup with a keepnet and see how you get on? I found unless I was catching decent fish instead of bream and silvers the size of my finger I got bored pretty quick😂 I usually do a bit of everything, when I get bored of one type of fishing I’ll do something else until I get bored of that and move on again lol. I have so much gear in my shed I struggle to get in it, it’s a nightmare trying to find stuff 😂😂

Powder with powders except dyes I have found liquids with liquids roughly 100-130g of dry per egg but that depends on mix there is no science to it it’s all bait woolly lol

I'm having some trouble bending my head around how to balance the wet ingredients. Dry parts, simple; weigh, blend, then take whatever you need to the egg mix. 1 kg base mix goes to what, roughly 8 eggs. Do you include the oils and hydros in the 1 kg of base mix, or is it added to the 1 kg of dry parts? Reasonably simple for 1 kg batches, but when you do 1 or 4 egg fractions it's a bit more fiddly.

Might not roll if you put too much of something in sure their is a inclusion list on-line that shows the maximum levels of single ingredients per kilo mix and what the results will be if too much is used, think it was a CC Moor list. I'd try some of the other Haiths stuff, robin gold really is something else the fish love it.

  6. I can't see any faults with your base mix; nutrition and attraction are covered. Krill may be an issue, not because it is a bad ingredient, but because it can be very light and make baits float

  7. i will bite ... I don’t think it’s particularly bad or unsafe unless the plastic bait is banned then they can use it it’s a lazy combi rig using stiff coated material because it’s easier to strip the coating than tie an albrite knot lol personally I would have just used a quick change swivel rather than the quick link and a swivel

Even if your camera can't take an intervalometer, you should be able to install 'Magic Lantern' on your Canon. I have been using this for a few years now and it is absolutely spot on. It is essentially 3rd party software that you install on your memory card and it opens up a load of extra features on your camera such as an intervalometer amongst other things. I generally use a 50mm equivalent lens (so 35mm on a crop sensor camera like yours) and use the aperture priority setting with an Av of around 5.6 and let the camera decide shutter speed for me. (this is obviously variable depending on light levels but is a good starting point). I set magic lantern's intervalometer to take a picture every 4 seconds and autofocus before every shot. I then go back through and delete all but the decent ones. One thing that is super helpful is having the twisty/flip screen so that I can line up the shot before getting the fish on the mat but I don't think the 4000d has that feature. A couple of example pics done with this method and an old/cheap Canon 600d with kit lens below. This video (from 4mins in) should give enough info to get you started with magic lantern.

  10. Looks like fun need a tea boy or a chain lad once built three bridges on the M40 lol did the marking out for the diggers right up to marking out where the bearing plates would sit on top of the concrete that the steel crossbeams sit on., it was the only job they would give me due to age seventeen had to be eighteen to get a labours job. The guys with a good trade or their own 360 machine were making real big money being in the engineers team i got to work with most of the trades always a good bit of competition to see which trade was earning the most. That area and the whole of Warwickshire could do with a few decent big fish venues something like a Linear fishery in south Warwick would make someone a lot of money.
