  3. I know it is early, but I've been awake since 4 this morning, Fishing dinner: diced lamb and garlic over pasta stuffed with pesto and goats cheese with chopped tomatoes and mixed herbs. To be honest washing up is no problem, I put water and washing up liquid in the saucepan, and boil it, then tip that water into the tupperware my tomatoes and lamb were in and onto my plate. Wet wipe and clean.

  4. Shimano aerlex spod reel Now I've used it 4 or 5 times I think I can give it a thumbs up, really smooth, works like a trooper and excellent value for money in my opinion, I have a feeling it will take some punishment too, teamed up with the Gardner spod braid seems a good combo, it's got one of those funny stay open bail arms which takes a bit of getting used too but once you know it won't close you can give it some clog This is my 3rd dedicated spod reel now after 2 soniks, and it is miles better, and only 20 quid dearer, really pleased with mine, if It still works like it does this time next year it will do for me Ps having had my diawa emcasts for an age I was a bit anti shimano but this reel has opened my eyes quite a bit Tight lines

    Help with rod choice

There used to be a small tackle shop above a hardware store near me the owner would always let us try a rod casting over the football pitch across the road from the shop to see if it suited us. Had my heart set on a rod had a cast but couldn’t compress the blank so it was a no no If you can try out a few all the better, good luck with your choice.

  6. Of those, I would be looking to the Century rods, or from having Terry Edmonds on my Facebook feed and his casting, the Shimano's. Or as I posted earlier, Rod Hutchinson Dream makers.

Get the Centuries if you can, either that or the shimanos seem to be the highest recommended, i don't like Shimano gear other than the reels, Shimano rods were once known to suffer tip snap offs once you get to near their maximum casting weight, had it happen on two hyperloops fishing bags, i did buy them used tenner a go, but a Rod Builder who knows more about what's what with carbon blanks had nothing good to say about the Shimano rods of 20 years back, might of changed. The fox X3 is a newish one, i have what they replaced in price range the Torque would love a review on the pros and cons between the two, i really do like my Torques i have used balistas before but not the slims i'd say mine are easily on par with the slims and I hate to say this but in the past few years i have had them i have not dropped a fish, touch wood and all that.

Well I have to say it's pretty blooming nippy today only me and one other on, at the moment, I was having a mooch and saw one out the back, and I've seen another show since out the other side, I'm in my old faithful swim 2 rods on the old spots and I've chucked a chod out onto what was a once very productive spot but now hasnt been fishable since my return, its choddy but might be worth a go, few spombs on each, we're fishing my new Bobbins look nice just need them to hit the rod now 😂

I don't think i would even try to cast it that far, just being a little silly 🙄 I fancied having a 4th rod I could chuck under a tree or in the margins or something,I'm allowed to use 4 on there so thought I may as well use my allowance while it's cold, it's a good fun rod , and won't take up much space, just thought it could give me another angle

If just like to add green into the mix from sprulina carp luv it but birds can’t really find it the confusing looks on the coots an tuftys when they pop up to the top with nothing in the beak is quiet amusing 😂

Thanks It wasn't an easy choice tbh, sometimes you have to just suck it and see, I don't feel like I've chosen too badly, the wind is hacking into the other half of the lake behind me, while it's windy the big part is fairly flat calm, I would have expected surf to be up, but it doesn't feel bad. had one savage liner so far, I've decided to call my rods. Rod, Jane and Freddy just waiting now for one of those to zippy off so I can bungle one into the net 😳😁
