  1. I am fishing a small 1 1/2 acre estate lake average depth of around 5ft with silt everywhere couple of ft deep in the middle of the pond. I find this time of the year especially they hold up in areas of sanctuary behind lilly pads, back of island & inbetween swims where there is less pressure I have noticed this by spending plenty of times walking the lake early morning & just before dark. Fish location is no 1 priority and getting to know there patrol routes I lead about when I am not fishing get my wraps sorted all around the lake to give me options to move onto showing fish with as least disturbance as possible I would say 90% of the anglers who fish the lake have long blanking sessions they just turn up bait up and wait I have had 4 out since lockdown and I am very happy with that but I do put the time in even without a rig in the water. My advice would to be keeping your eyes on the water and do your leading around find those areas and watch there movements even know I am fishing a small lake my binoculars are around my neak 24/7. Keep rigs simple & bait up regularly in the areas you find preferably the lest obvious parts of the lake. Tightlines 🎣

    Dab Radio

Yes mate, I take it all the time. It's quite compact reception is good (I rarely have to put the aerial up) and battery life is pretty decent.

The play 10 one looks pretty good for the money I think, still fairly small 18cm long 10cm high, haven't heard one though but my mate used to have a portable one which sounded pretty decent

  10. I'm not one for glugging baits or hook sharpening. My view is the hook is straight out of the packet, it is sharp enough. There is a but in there, I use Gardner Muggas and Solar 101's, they are sharp from the pack, and they will penetrate my finger, and the carps mouth. As for glugging or soaking baits, I have not done so in goo or other soak for years. I know my hookbait work on runs waters, and my harder venues.

    What am i doing wrong?

I think you're right and I have been considering it. I think I just want to prove to myself that I can do it the other way. At the moment, I feel like I can't catch fish by sitting on rods and until I prove myself wrong, I'll still feel like I'm doing something wrong. I'll post my rigs when I get home to get those checked.. If I am to give it a go, do I just throw my usual rig out? Should I only drop it in if I actually see fish or should I also just consider dropping it in a likely spot? How long should I wait before moving on? (P.S. @cromiee Hope you don't feel like I've hijacked your post while you've been away... I imagine the responses here will help you regardless!)

    Boilies done

As much as I like 'rare' shaped hookbaits, I do tend to just grab a boilie out of the bag and stick it on the hook, simply because I now get my bait direct from RH rather than make my own. I have caught on various specials; massive cube boilies, sausages boiled then cut into discs, boilie mix rolled flat and then cut with a playdoh cutter (Bart Simpson), cut down boilies, uncooked air dried boilie mix, then obviously the boiled brick cut into cubes.
