  2. Only gone and smashed it in france we got the double peg as planned and managed to land 16 fish with a few lumps as well I had two 50s biggest being a 57lb and my mate had the lake record fish at 62.14lb. Thanks for all your help especially you yonny as I took your advice on how many rods to put out and ended up only fishing two rods and caught the most fish!😀

Yes mate, a very nice fish. One of many I've seen pics of, all hand reared from spawn collected from local lakes/rivers...…. These lads have some serious fish rearing knowledge and some serious passion too (not to mention the kit involved)……. Nerdity at it's finest, long may it continue...…. I'll be pumping out and resurrecting an old garden pond before the summer is out and I've got a couple of small tanks. So, hopefully, next year I can grow a few fry on from my Syndicate ( Train them on my bait..lol)….. 🙂 Then wait 30yrs and smash it on the lake.....

Went over the local lake to rake out a couple of swims to hopefully fish on Wednesday...…. To my surprise, the weed that was floor to surface only a few weeks back, is now gone... (well , prob' heaped up in various spots on the wind)……. This has somewhat [censored]ed me, as I thought I'd be able to just drop in on one of the close in spots again on Wednesday... I had no marker rod, or any rod with me, so decided to bait one of the margins with half kg of boilies leading up to a swim that I'd intended raking. Here I put another half kg and about a kg of ground bait that I'd soaked in Hydros. Thought I'd messed up the ground bait as it just looked like a ball of paste. I needn't of worried , as the little walnut sized clumps a threw in, gave off a lovely cloud which slowly sunk over the boilies... Gonna nip back tomorrow evening and run a lead through the spot and chuck 50 odd baits in, hopefully setting it up nicely for Wednesday night...… I doubt anyone will be over there with the football on.... There was no one over there tonight.....

  8. 3 weeks to go, and I'm off to France with my daughter Lydia. We've booked a double swim, and I'm really looking forward to it. Never been to the venue (Genesis) before but have been advised that the swim we are in is a "large" double, with plenty of water in front of us. I have also been given advice to which parts of the swim are "holding spots" so will give Lydia the first option to fish those areas. We're going to have a little competition between ourselves, but ultimately we are there to help each other out..... I'll net for her, she'll net for me and we'll look out for each others rods. I won't be helping her other than that though, she has been fishing long enough to know what she is doing, and I can leave her to get on with it. The main aim of the holiday is to relax, and for Lydia to hopefully beat her pb, which currently stands at 22lb. Looking at the quality and size of the fish over there, she should do that. I'd like to beat mine, but if I don't I'm not too fussed. My only "concern" is that she loves to spend her time on social media, even when we're fishing. She is constantly posting on FB or texting her friends, which annoys me immensely. I'm going to get my own back on her by pitching my bivvy close enough to hers so that my snoring will drive her mad.......😉
