Glad to be of help. I suspect that the manufacturers employ elves with tiny hands to pack their products.......... Ian2 points -
All set for tomorrow, had a quick reccy tonight. The weed is up and the thick willow blossom is covering most of the lake. Think it's put a few off as there was nobody fishing.... Spotted a few fish in front of a swim that is fishable close in up to about 10 yards so if nobody is fishing when I arrive I think I'll chuck the weed rake out and make the clear area larger, enough to squeeze a couple of locked up rods on. Bait it, get the swim set up and have a wander while it settles down for a couple of hours.... It's a small lake of about 5 acres and the fish move around a bit, I've got 48hrs planned so don't mind making a bit of noise to start with... Hope it pays off ๐2 points

Tell me about it! I spent a week at Napoleon Lakes in France last year and got smashed up by huge catfish all week as did my son who was in the next swim. Hooks snapped at the bend, entire hooklinks taken....you get the picture. Not impressed! Ian1 point

I remember that social very well. Nige was into his fourth or fifth fish before I'd go my bivvy up! Ian1 point -

A cat would be hard enough to land on a 12 ft zig without branches mate lol....1 point -

Signals not great ! .... turns out it was a cat trailing the branches , hence the strange fight . Managed to land it & sort it out . Gutted thought it was a big carp momentarily !!! lol1 point -

Just had a mad fight on a 12ft zig .... went from thinking this is a big carp to "what the hell have I hooked here " fairly sharpish . But it didn't feel like a cat fish either . Anyway slowly worked it towards me after it powerd off many times gets it close & the first thing that breaks the surface Is this nest of branches .1 point -

Baiting Pole
greekskii reacted to snowmanstevo for a topic
Two bits of rig foam back to back will see your rig stay upright for a while. I always cast out my multi rig this way and with a semi stiff hooklengh and a flattish bottom my rig is presented perfectly. I checked it too many times in the margin for it not too.๐ I attach my foam โJulian Cundiffโ style and it does exactly what you want it to do. ๐1 point -
Baiting Pole

I did a work party on our club water, and i must say found a few good swims that this bait pole would come in to its own...so want to get cracking and make one! Greekskii & cyborx good points on using larger diameter conduit would be great for the last few sections (bank side) the only issue is screw connectors? because of different diameter/thread? I'll be off on me bike at the weekend down to wicks & screw fix to see want i can get... BTW, B.C. Any updates? CHEERS!1 point -
Any recommendations?

Timberlands in whichever style or colour you prefer. Just make sure they're Timberlands. Trust me. Ian1 point -
I still have the STi 2 man and having used it for the first time came to pack it away into the bag it came in. Not possible! I bought a much larger zipped bivvy bag, best money I've spent! Ian1 point

Blanked the social, only one lad caught , from 25 anglers. The fish were not playing ball, not surprising with everyone turning up at once and a bit of noise going on.... However, these things aren't really about catching. Met some good lads from up and down the country....... It was held at Frisby Lakes near Melton Mobray, 30 plus acres with plenty of places for the fish to hide in , due to the island structure in the middle. Chris, the lake manager , has introduced 300 stockies to the estimated 300 odd fish already present, which go to 30plus...... Plenty of other species present including some sizeable pike..... If you are prepared for a bit of a barrow run, there are some beautiful swims around the back of the lake, lillies, finger bays, snags, it screams carp..... Set between two villages, both a couple of miles away, the place has a nice safe feel about it. If I lived local, I would definitely revisit, just to rectify the blank lol......... Gonna give my local waters a go this week...... got a carp cradle to Christen ๐1 point
