its most eminently possible that fish of that weight and over live in there, a ressa that has over 10 miles of margin, 3 miles long and over 2 mile wide and that not taking into account the smaller section the other side of the causeway, interesting fact: this ressa was used by 617 squadron (dam busters) for practice runs with the bouncing bombs for their campaign on the Rhur, during this practice it was refered to as 'colchester lake' 😛2 points

Good luck fella's I drew a blank but never mind, I'll be back out Wednesday. I did move on to a couple of shows but nothing materialised, I did get soaked packing up but 20 minutes later I was back home warming up in front of the fire It doesnt matter how hard it gets or how dreadful the weather is, time on the bank is a medication I'm quite willing to take I'll be back out Monday afternoon getting some more bait in then fishung Wednesday. As I said, good luck fella's2 points

What any sensible fishery manager does is have a net, mat and sling in every swim. Problem being that things like KHV and SVC and even CEV (the latest one) will transfer on things like line, leads, hooklinks. You name it. Braid is the worst for it as water soaks in to it Then you have birds, can't net your lake can you. But a port of call is have fishery nets, etc. It will drastically reduce then chances of getting it. But how do day tickets do that? Places with huge turnovers and some of them a bit unsavoury.1 point

Not sure on layer pits mate, but yes in my opinion all lakes should have the dip tanks but it's not always that easy is it.....to many money driven people without thinking if they lose the stock they lose the money!1 point -
If you do get any of the aforementioned it's says more about them than it does you mate! The EA 100% know as it is on the website as a confirmed case. A water not to far from there that I fish has installed a dip tank for nets slings matts etc and i believe if you go inside the otter fencing without first dipping kit it's a lifetime ban. As far as I am concerned it should be public knowledge to protect all other local fisheries and those further afield from visiting anglers, it also goes beyond irresponsible and inexcusable the way it has been hushed up1 point

I've seen waters closed down, drained, cleared, and left fallow with no water in for two years before being refilled and restocked. A private syndicate water at that! Sadly I think that there are too many irresponsible owners around now. I had it on my Facebook page about how Tim Paisley restocked Birch Grove and The Mangrove swamp, but the base was this: he bought the fish from Ben Gratwicke of I think Priory Fishery Farm, put them in a stock pond of his own, mixed with a few of the fish from those waters, and kept them in there for a year, before putting them into those two waters. If anyone wants it, i'll try to find a link, on my Fb, but he has also written it into More From The Bivvy, which is in itself an excellent read, written during sessions on the bank, covering waters like Ashmead, Rainbow, Mangrove and Birch Grove.1 point -
Get the anglers locally to promote good biosecurity. Put it on pages they can't take the posts down. Irresponsible owners is what it is. They'll be moaning when they get it when they could have stopped it. Look at @yonny water. A confirmed KHV not far away and the owner did the right thing... although the spray you have to use, well I'm sceptical about that.1 point

At least the lake isn't, 3 - 4 months of sunshine and fair weather and you couldn't fish, you finally get out and it snows I do hope you get a few bends in your rods :fingers-crossed: Are those shows at the other end of the lake (maybe middle?), or icebergs?1 point -
Hahahaa. Oh dear!! I keep mine in my sleeping bag when it's this cold. And my charger pack. My radio was in here too as that wouldn't work this morning!1 point

Not known if it was an illegal import and dumped dead on the banks. . Don't know what the bream one will be under, Ardleigh or bream, but he did a couple of bream episodes. I can remember one at Melton as well as Ardleigh, and there was one with a number of big double figure bream from a Norfolk lake.1 point -

The order they were caught was 26, 20, 26, 16, all caught in January a couple of years ago on a 4 night session. I was just about to photograph the second 26 when the best looking fish of the lot took, that beautiful double. Picture order is the third fish was the 20lb, the top was the second 26.1 point -
I dont look at the water temps, just one more reason not to be confident. Tbh it's not about catching in winter for me. Its about enjoying the season. But..... my winter PB came on the second coldest sesh I've ever done (-5!!!!). When times are hard i remember that Dave lane caught Mary from wrasbury in minus temps in Feb when there was 15 fish in 100 odd acres. My point: there is ALWAYS a chance. The underside of my brolly is icing up. Tell you what fellas, I LOVE it!1 point
