  4. I can't remember one instance where I've lost a fish and thought "the baitrunner caused that". I use baitrunners, wouldn't have it any other way. I sit on my rods all the time, never leave them. The baitrunner, to me, is one of the best innovations in fishing,

  9. The reels people use for angling aren't all designed with carp in mind. Predators being a prime example where resistance in your setup can cause them to drop the bait. Bait runners have been adopted by carp anglers but it's not the style of fishing they were originally designed for. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

  10. Hmmm. See I have baitrunners and I used to really struggle to understand the logic of bigpits where you're having to 'tighten up' manually. Now I would happily make the switch if I had the spare pennys. With my current baitrunners don't forget the drag is adjustable still, so I have mine set pretty firm most of the time. Then my regular drag is set so when the switch happens if the fish goes for it I don't have my arm pulled off it can take line. But I guess I sort of agree with you but just because of habit I think when I do switch it'll feel wierd for a while. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk

  11. Cross winds make a huge difference mate . I'm positive that so many people including some on here who say they can cast a baited rig 100 yards plus just arn't doing so . I would love to get some of them on a social & clip them up at over 25 wraps & see if they can really hit the clip . I personally think a huge percentage wouldn't be able to even though they say they can .

    Silt set up

Doesn't anyone realise this may well be down to how fish are feeding. A group of fish feed a lot more vigorously than maybe a singular to two fish. Bigger fish tend to either swim alone or with one maybe two other fish. If you watch how they feed they are a lot more cautious. What I'm trying to say, maybe this has nothing to do with the lead set up, maybe it's more to do with the hook end. Try a pop up, an instant grab rig rather than a balanced or bottom bait, it might just be the little tweak that changes everything. It's very rarely lead set ups that cause losses, it's more down to presentation, ie, bottom, balanced or pop up and hook sharpness.
