    fishing in silt

Just search leadcore, it's controversial - some for and some against; vehemently so. It's only been a short while since the last one. Helicopter is your hook-link coming off your main line via a ring (of some description) with your lead at the end of your main line; the same as a chod really, or even a paternoster. It's just alternative ways of viewing it [the "rig"], lengths of hook-links, length from where the hook-link is in relation to the lead... Sorry if I've confused you even more.

You can do whatever you like mate it works too albeit a Bream . I did it out of desperation as i was contemplating throwing myself in the River Lea and i remembered Adam Penning writing about it

    fishing in silt

Thats why i was pointing out re the silt looking very different all over the country , god knows why since a rotting leaf is a leaf is a leaf regardless of where it is situated:) However this is apparently a fact , something i picked on not just in a fishing magazine (carpology) i believe , but also on a geological website so its easy enough to find . Agree lots with the advice you have given the lad above , Chod rig every time for me just making sure , as you say , the bottom bead is well above silts depth . Also , bottom bait on a Chod rig ? Yes indeed sir nice one . I caught that way myself a few years ago on a VERY hard water a few years ago albeit a specimen sized Bream ( ask Nick ). That difficult it would do CM's head in . It did mine :)

    Carp Gear

Prof - is it anything specific you are looking for? If you have any more issues - take a look here www,banksidetackle.co.uk/ If you see anything you fancy buying - go for it, tell Finchy not to deliver (space for notes on the order form) - I will go pick it up and send it on to you willingly.

  5. If I'm reading this right , I can't beleive you are advocating moving fish that are carying a parasite , just because certain fish are not affected does this mean other species or indeed the same species in another lake won't be ?

You could check Billy Clarke Tackle in Sheffield, they were great shipping to me in Canada and the website says they do Aus - doesn't cost anything to shoot them an email.

    Carp Gear

If you are looking for tackle resources, I would recommend either Johnson Ross (great bunch of guys and happy to help when you want to put together some gear and want to be informed of what works with what, also happy to do a deal on larger purchases Tacklebox.co.uk great website when you know what you want, very quick rarely takes more than a week to get here (downside is the price as it is always RRP and freight is not cheap, upside though is speed, i've had gear here in my had in four days before) Ted Carter great for bulky items as they offer freight free (YES FREIGHT FREE!!!!!!!) to Australia when the purchase is above a certain threshold (threshold ranges depending on the time of year.) not the quickest and can take time for them to get all your order items in, but as long as you keep in contact with them it will get here and it will be FREIGHT FREE!!!!!) All of the above will remove the VAT as we are outside the EU when you purchase, but just remind them.

    Carp Gear

I used to hold Korda gear (and still have a fair bit left over) problem was trying to keep everything that everybody wanted when I had to buy in bulk and everyone wanted to buy one packet. There was also a strange phenomenon where people seemed to feel that if it was local (so you had already paid freight etc etc to have it in the country) that it should somehow be cheaper? than in the shops in the UK????? I still sell Free Spirit rods though, have limited Korda gear still available and also sell boilies.
