intplayboy4 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Hi peeps, my friends and i were hoping to go carp fishing in france next year (2010) but unfortunately 1 of my friends is getting married so money is very tight for him and we've had to abandon the idea of fishing in france for the moment. I was wondering if any fellow members had any ideas or recommendations for any venues in england that we could go instead for a week or weekend fishings?? We're not obssessed with catching massive 40lb-50lb bigboys (although this would be great!) we just want somewhere where we can go as a group and enjoy an action packed holiday. Look forward to hearing from you all (hopefully) Quote
riggythecarpboy Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Bluebell Lakes maybe? although it is hard to catch on, when you do its a biggun. Quote

stewpot Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Another vote for Bluebell. 3 lakes to choose from plus a stretch of river, decent bacon sandwiches and a cup of tea in the morning, local curry house delivers and if you fancy reeling the rods in, a great pub just up road. What more could you possibly need? Quote
carpkid12345 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 todber manors big hayes lake. you will get lots of bites and the average fish is around fifteen pound and the biggest being 34 2oz. me and my mate went for 2 nights and had fifteen fish up to seventeen pound but there are loads of 20s in there. take a look on the webiste www.todbermanor.co.uk Quote
binfield Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Yateley sandhurst lake with fish over 40lb. or book the pads just for you and your mates. Quote
leggs007 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 bluebell ok but expensive but so are most places nowdays celtic lakes in wales might be an idea leaving the country might make it feel a bit more like a holiday abroad Quote
welder Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 I've just googled celtic lakes and found their website. Also had a look on Google Earth. I could do a week on there, no problem. Ian Quote
jaxx Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 another vote for bluebell! im going myself in 2010 only for the kingfisher lake mind, not swan. Don't feel confident enough to pull out a monster yet! Quote
steve1exeter Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 See Hogsbrook Lakes on forum. Would guarentee you at least 100lb of fish per day, mostly between 8-18lb with the odd 20+. Bring a caravan/bivvy/tent. More info if you decide to consider! Quote
bluebirdjones Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 If you wanted an exclusive lake you could try 'Rookery Meadow' which allows exclusive use for 5 anglers ranging between £750-1000. It has carp over 30lb, send me a PM if you want a link but its easy enough to find on google. I've never been there but like the look of the place. No ones mentioned it yet but an alternative of going to France could be 'The Monument'? Quote

Thats probably because it would probably work out dearer to fish there for a week than france would be, which was why he couldnt go to france anyway, and more than likely catch a lot less. Quote
leggs007 Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 kingsbury water park has some nice fish,i think you can camp on site but no night fishing but only about £4 a day to fish, and a few slabs of beer and a bbq on the night could make fairly cheap holiday, also billing aquadrome has a few lakes plus river running through site Quote
