daleg2008 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Is there any way to kick out a supple braid of around 8-10 inches away from the lead? so the hookbait doesn't always land next to the lead. i will be fishing to depths of around 6 feet. cheers Quote
tonybranno Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Feel the lead down and it should kick it out a bit. Quote
jsouth Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 If you don't have the braid yet you can get a coated hooklink and just strip away some of the coating near the hook end so that the swivel end is more like mono and won't tangle/coil up as much. This won't really "kick it out" as much though. Quote

When it disolves the skwer floats away leaving the hooklink out stretched from the lead. Quote

x_booker_x Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 the other thing you can do in supple braid is to make a boom out if the braid. use a large loop at the end of your rig and this should stop the hook landing right next to the lead a bit better tight lines Quote
