  1. Just got back from genesis and what a trip.We went for two weeks as its something i have always wanted to do in my 30 years of fishing.Done loads of 7 and 10 days before but never 14.It all started well the first day or so and then the heavens opend up and the water levels came rushing up and we needed to move the bivies up to higher ground. We was fishing in swim 5 mostly to the far bank where i promptly walked around and placed my reflective breakdown vest as a night time reflector. The bottom of the lake is clean and snag free with the only snags found are tree roots in places around the margins.I was using a fishmeal boily with a fishy smell and had no prob with nuisence fish .The first week i had six 30s the biggest was a 38lb 8oz and 14 over 20lb to 28lb and six under 20lb up to 28lb.The second week slowed down a bit down to the weather i think as the water was up and down from the amount of rain we got the wind was blowing up the lake one day and down the next and the temp was t shirt one day and thermals the next ( globle warming ????? ) never the less we ended up with 62 carp in all ...7..30S......33 over 20lb and 22 up to 29lb. think if the weather was on our side we could have done better. Now to eddy and val....What can i say apart from dont change a thing . They are such good hoasts and nothing is to much trouble .As said on there blog by myself i think they have set the standerds for all carp fisherys. So a big thankyou to them and i would recomend genesis to anyone looking for a lake that you dont want to sit for days behind motionless rods and to be looked after by two great people
  2. small kd rig works well with maize or corn .More so when balanced
  3. Hi halfman halfcap I take it you are new to carp fishing and you you are in the right place to progress in this sport. If you want to go with something like corn your best bet is to try maize as it stays on your hook better and is cheep to buy and you can have some fun soaking it in some flavours.Welcome to the forum
  4. hi there am thinking of doing a week at churchwood fisheries in essex with a few of my mates in october was just wondering if anyone has fished here and if you have would just like some info on what the lake is like quantity of fish any tips etc
  5. Most of them are around east grinsted way or around tonbridge .Hope this helps
  6. Just keep it simple a standerd knotless knot and a inline lead
  7. Can we have some more details please as all we know is that it is in horsham and it can be a runs water.Things like tel numbers and address
  8. Not fished it this year but last year i did about six times i like the main lake the best it is up the top and near the car park.take plenty of pellet with and fish over the top with something like trigger. The baliff will come around and will point you in the right direction.Good luck and have fun
  9. I know a nice lake in oxsted it has carp to 26ib.it is twenty pound for 24 hrs thay dont advertise but its down pope lane it is arond three acres with two islands .If you have truble finding it just post me and will try and get you a phone num for them
  10. Willinghurst is a great complex i always take new commers thare as i find it hard to blank and your in with a chance of a few nice carp out
  11. If your rigs are good and you have nothing to hide it dont matter how many times you have to bring your rods in to be checked id rather loose a fish from bring in my rods than loose one out of the lake .Lets stamp this out and suport our balifs and dont get the hump with them
  12. This year i have decided to do a week out on a good day tick water. Most years i go away for a week fishing holiday in france or in a log cabin over here.I was just wondering if any of you know of any waters that you would pay youre well earnt cash on for a week on the bank
  13. Im from addington.I was a member of farnham last year but the cost of pet in my car cost alot over the year as all the waters thay have are guilford way. This year i am a member of isfield @ district thay dont have a web site but the tel number is 01342 315073 if you give them a ring thay will give you some info.Hope this is of some help
  14. Its a shame that you cant fish it on your own if you have alot of experience and are a responsible 16 year old.I have fished alot of lakes and seen inexperienced adults that are not responsible
  15. Fished it three times now its a big water and yes it can be hard.Make sure you phone and get a boat out it only cost you 10 pound and go down the lake to the other end from the dam.Got loads of hybrid but no carp but they do go to around 40lb so worth a bash good luck
