Like Chilly the angler not keen on spicy cilli though, as a side guy on YouTube smoked the world's hottest chilli in a pipe, went temporarily blind and nearly passed a lung, you get 70 bucks for a 10,000 view video crazy.

I met chilly at the carp society event at sandown Park race course must have been 2018 , I randomly bought one of his books ( light my fire)  from the tackle exchange in Walton the year before and loved it, what a great book. So while I was there got him to sign all of his books that I had bought prior to the event 👍 absolute top fella and proper down to earth.

I met Chilly at the big one show last February, what a thoroughly decent man. Made time to have a good chat with my son and I. 
made my day getting 10min of his time

i may have fan-girl’ed it about the fox stand a bit more than is normal for a 40yr old father of 4… 🙄

TBH, Chilly is my favourite angler.

I remember when he did a monthly column in Carpology and it all just made sense.

The first time I met him was @ Sandown years ago and I got him to sign my books. He was there with Lynn. I remember it clearly because I had on a Nash brown hoody which his wife Lynn complimented me on. Chilly just stopped dead in his tracks, looked at her with a puzzled/annoyed look, made a comment along the lines that it was a Nash hoody, turned back and continued his signing. 😜

I've met him a few times since at shows, but never on the bank. One of the few people in fishing (along with Jeremy Wade) I'd love to sit down and have a pint with.
