bluelabel Posted November 4 Report Posted November 4 For the 6 footer's I'd suggest a pair of 4000 size Shimmy baitrunners, cracking little reels, I used a pair of Aero 4000 x on My 9' Dwarfs great little reels, not cheap but my lass bought me mine for Chrimbo years back, I think a Stock 4000 will be a lot cheaper Quote

I was using the same reel for carp fishing for small fish as well, nice to play them on that rather than an 'oversized' big pit reel. They do go nicely on a 12feet ledger or specialist rod. Quote

At the price point you're looking at I'd be going with Okuma. Looked at a few Okumas, looking 1 of the better options so far. 5 hours ago, Carpbell3 said: The daiwa emblem 25a is a solid reel for 60 quid, can't fault them nice mini big bit you can even set them up to be the QT front drag version 5 hours ago, yonny said: Do you mean the Emcast? jules007 Posted Friday at 20:41 Author Report Posted Friday at 20:41 Im back at this search for a couple of reels, seems every time i find a reel that may be right, its out of stock, i am only looking at new as my very old DAM quick 850`s are looking right scruffy.....but they still work even though getting badly corroded now, doing great for 18 years old, i do wonder if shimano reels would still be going strong at this age and never been opened up to service Quote

Cheers framey, i have found it to be decent kit at sensible money, in some ways i dont want to retire my old 850`s got a fair bit of history in those reels, so it only seems right to at least stick with same brand Quote
