How do you prefer to fish.

Do you put all 3 rigs on the same spot with the same baits.

I have never fished like this. I always put my rods(2 or 3 depending on rules) in different places with one rod fishing a different bait and method.

For example 2 on boilies n 1 on a pop-up or wafter but all different parts of the swim or lake if I have it to myself

I only have/had a 2 rod setup, so was always 1 in either margin and 1 to open water or a feature...both using the same baits though, Sticky Manilla.

It can depend the features in the swim whether you fish more than one rod on the spot.

If for example you are fishing a gravel bar or plateau, 3 rods on the spot might be the right method, whereas a silty weedy lake you might have 3 rods in totally different places.

I turned up for my last session and fish were showing alongside the rushes either side of the swim.

One rod on each side, and one on the baited area in between.

Now when it comes to bait on the rods, I have a pop-up on one rod, a snowman bait consisting of a 15mm bottom bait 12mm pop-up on one and the 3rd is usually my experiment rod. Funnily enough it's the experiment rod that produced this week, a Multi-rig with 2 6mm pop-ups on as bait, however I've caught on pop-ups, snowman and bottom baits.

However, if I was fishing 3 rods on a spot then its likely that I would be fishing 3 identical baits.

personally i have never used a 3 rod set up but as i only go to one water anyway its never been something i have missed. in fairness both my rods have a different bait and set up often i will have one with a pop-up cast away from my second which is usually a method or solid bag set up. sometimes when my daughter comes with me i will have a carp rod out in the middle and then my old course gear set up for float fishing for silvers which can be good fun as never blank with that.

it really depends on the spot and the situation. Impossible to say before you're in a swim and found the spots that are fishable.

I normally try to spread my rods in a swim to give options and may move two to a spot if it's producing fish and the others are quiet.

I tend to let the carp tell me what to do.

If there's a spot in front of me on which my finned friends are clearly having it, I like nothing more than to fish 3 on it. Some of my best hits have come to this method. But it's very rarely this situation occurs and even rarer there's space for three rods on the spots I tend to fish.

I just fish to what I see. This could mean 3 on a spot or 3 different spots dotted all over the place. Or 2.... or even 1.
