dayvid Posted March 27, 2020 Report Posted March 27, 2020 I have just weighed mine 42 inch with a 6 foot pole and it weighed 650 grams exactly I wonder how this compares to most and especially the high end landing nets yonny 1 Quote

dayvid Posted March 27, 2020 Author Report Posted March 27, 2020 It’s the Fox warrior S 42” yonny 1 Quote
dayvid Posted March 27, 2020 Author Report Posted March 27, 2020 I also have the Fox warrior 42” , had that many years now and that weighs 875 grams Quote
B B Posted March 27, 2020 Report Posted March 27, 2020 I often wonder why fisheries insist we use 42 landing nets.... dont telll anyone but I use a 36 🤐 Quote
elmoputney Posted March 27, 2020 Report Posted March 27, 2020 (edited) I bought a new net recently, I've got a Sonik S1, It's a bit of a heavy weight one in comparison 998g 😬 But I thought it was light compared to my old one, that must've really been on the pies 😁 Although actually looking the pack weight is 998g too so may be lighter it came in a big old box 🤔 Edited March 27, 2020 by elmoputney Quote

dayvid Posted May 21, 2020 Author Report Posted May 21, 2020 I also have a 36" net , no problem landing 30s with it , I think 42s just came about somehow , someone probably famous stating they were a must have and then they just become the norm. Quote

It got replaced by a 42 Gardner net, that was heavy. Stuck with 42 ever since, although I do have a specimen pan net for smaller fish and bream. Since then I had a Nash Outlaw 42 until that broke, although now using a Fox Warrior, but I have replaced the mesh a couple of times Quote
framey Posted May 21, 2020 Report Posted May 21, 2020 (edited) I still have an old school north western net 36” arms probably get good money for it on the old school pages lol i just use a cheap korum 2 piece in normal circumstances as it’s only a net and sits on the ground 99.9% of the time or shoved in bushes sod buying expensive ones anymore Edited May 21, 2020 by framey Quote

framey Posted May 21, 2020 Report Posted May 21, 2020 My mate just bought a matrix bulldog but he’s a tackle tart lol elmoputney 1 Quote
... Posted May 22, 2020 Report Posted May 22, 2020 Hopefully a new net soon, The Saber 2 piece for £29.99 or the Sonik Vader X 2 piece. Quote
dayvid Posted May 22, 2020 Author Report Posted May 22, 2020 If I didnt have three nets , I would definitely go for a 2 piece pole. ... 1 Quote
B B Posted May 22, 2020 Report Posted May 22, 2020 I fish a lot of day ticket waters ( well use do 🙄 ) and I see lots of young lads struggling with large nets. The problem it’s not the arms it’s the long drop of the net. Quote
