Carp123_0 Posted April 17, 2018 Report Posted April 17, 2018 I want reviews on there pop ups I normally fish with multi rig i know there ment to be really buoyant I normally fish 15mm on multi rig just want to know if there 15mm will be ok for this I don’t mind putting on a AAA shot or a SSG to pin it down Quote
yonny Posted April 17, 2018 Report Posted April 17, 2018 You'd need a brick to hold the 15 mm's down on a multi buddy. Might be better off with the 13 mm's or even the 11's. Quote
Carp123_0 Posted April 17, 2018 Author Report Posted April 17, 2018 They do a 15mm standard pop up will that be ok i know they do a 15mm mega buoyant one but that mite be too much Quote
yonny Posted April 17, 2018 Report Posted April 17, 2018 I find the normal 15s are a struggle to hold down even with size 4 hinges with 25 lb filament and a ring swivels. I use a tungsten chod bead and still need to use putty. The mega buoyant 15s will hold up a meter of lead core if you don't add weight. Quote
greekskii Posted April 18, 2018 Report Posted April 18, 2018 go for the 13s mate, I have used them and they were ideal. 15s youll need a fair bit of weight even with size 4 hooks. yonny 1 Quote
Dan Mircea Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 Will a 13mm pop-up lift a size 4 hook ronnie rig? Quote

Dan Mircea Posted October 15, 2019 Report Posted October 15, 2019 Thanks mate👍 how about a size 11 pop-up. Good enough for a size 4 ronnie? Quote

Yes - although I would test it in a glass to see how long it will keep your particular pattern of hook up for. The 13 mm needs a fair bit of putty to hold it down, I even had to trim the pop ups down. The 11 mm will keep a hinge with a size 5 Chodda up for 48 hrs easily, and that's with putty too. They're be far the most buoyant pop ups on the market buddy. Quote
kevtaylor Posted October 15, 2019 Report Posted October 15, 2019 IMO you don't want really buoyant pop-ups for the multi rig, having huge blobs of putty makes a definite tangle point. I prefer a reliable medium buoyancy pop-up with a small amount of putty. Just my findings for what its worth. 👍 greekskii, crusian, Its-grim-up-north and 1 other 4 Quote
framey Posted October 15, 2019 Report Posted October 15, 2019 Isn’t it proper job ones who have ceased trading? i get them and ultra buoyant mixed up Quote
yonny Posted October 15, 2019 Report Posted October 15, 2019 Proper Job Pop Ups are still going strong. Quote

Not with my casting technique mate - that's all I know. Don't forget that with the Multi your talking about an extremely low pop-up, maybe if it were higher it wouldn't be able to turn and catch under the putty, but it can. Granted it's quite rare that it happens but occasionally it does. A lot of this will depend on how stiff the hooklink is, I know that with the materials I use, big blobs of putty are a no no Urban baits pop-ups stay up for days, hold up a size 4 and only require a small amount of putty, I've tested a lot and these work perfectly for me 👍 yonny 1 Quote

I tend to use hinges and ronnies which might explain our different experiences buddy. Never had an issue👍 kevtaylor 1 Quote
fishingaddict Posted November 8, 2020 Report Posted November 8, 2020 Awesome! You won’t be disappointed. They are most buoyant non cork ball pop ups I’ve ever used. I recommend the coped squid, black pepper plus, choc orange and devils dung. Quote

Works fine for me. Quote
