cyborx Posted March 5, 2016 Report Posted March 5, 2016 Guessing its hush hush then boys i know the ressa on the otherside of the road has been saved as a refuge for the locals by the M6 toll company mate, you might find that they own that bit as well, i did hear when i was working on the development of the toll that the government granted them the purchase rights to any fallow land for a 1/2 mile eitherside of the M6 toll to stop any building developments. sooo, make your own mind up about that one Thecarpsharp 1 Quote
jonezy Posted March 5, 2016 Report Posted March 5, 2016 Do a few trips during the spring. If you don't see any anglers, or any signs, just fish it. What's the worst that can happen? I suppose you could get shot but that's not very likely in this day and age. chillfactor, Thecarpsharp and welder 3 Quote
welder Posted March 5, 2016 Report Posted March 5, 2016 I have to agree with Stuart (jonezy). Just land there and fish it. What's the worst that can happen? I've noticed this water whilst travelling on the Toll road, by the way, and have considered guesting it myself. Get in there. Ian Thecarpsharp 1 Quote
bullyforme Posted March 5, 2016 Report Posted March 5, 2016 Rosemary Tiles. Syndicate with a high proportion of members coming from the local community. I looked into this a couple of years ago & application forms where available form one of the local parishes - might have been Cheslyn but not sure. Thecarpsharp 1 Quote

Thecarpsharp Posted March 6, 2016 Author Report Posted March 6, 2016 Is it also known as the brick and tile pool? Quote
winnywood Posted March 6, 2016 Report Posted March 6, 2016 Looking on Google maps there appears to be 2 entrances with car parks. Are both gated? One access from a460 bypass and one just past screwfix on mill lane. Quote

Nice one for reply i havent actually tried the other entrance i will look into that next weekend i went up today but no one on tgere and gate locked. Quote
jonezy Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 I'd recommend not turning up fully kitted out in real tree, looking like a first class poacher. I'd go up under the disguise of a jogger, both for reconnaissance and getaway purposes. cyborx, welder and Thecarpsharp 3 Quote
winnywood Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 Was passing by this tonight and this info is on the gate. Quote
jonezy Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 I don't think you'll need a pole vault to get over that fence. Time to go poaching I think mate. cyborx and Thecarpsharp 2 Quote

Anyone any idea what a bio security course is? Iv just tried the website it doesn't work your right. And was the gate locked as usual mate? I have no idea what bio security means :s maybe its just a deterrent so no one fishes it Quote
winnywood Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 Not sure if gate was locked. My first though was maybe there was some bio identification in use like finger print or eye scanning by the bailiffs, or maybe its that expensive to fish there you need to leave a kidney as a deposit. .. Thecarpsharp Posted March 12, 2016 Author Report Posted March 12, 2016 After a quick search i think its to do with the crayfish in there and to stop the spread of disease but do not quote me i will do some more research and call the number on monday as prob no answer tomorrow Quote
spr1985 Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 (edited) Bio security to me would mean bone dry tackle boots/footwear before going on site and agree with thecarpsharp but would hazard a guess at it includes any form of disease or invasive species of plant quick google search and ........ winnywood Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 Just been doing some googleing and the pool is called walkmill lane clay pit and there is some info about it being a sssi site. Thecarpsharp 1 Quote
liamclose Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 Never heard it been called walkmill always known it as rosemary tiles it's not easy really deep even the margins are 20 ft around 60ft in places good floater water if you persevere used to be free fishing until around 5 years ago majority of anglers really struggle no point in poaching it as you need to put the time in and you will get caught. This thread been going a while surely you been into local tackle shop and asked them about it? Used to be dodgy down there don't no what it's like now but with the gate been locked should be better. Used be some stunning fish mainly doubles and 20ties and few low 30ties and of course the big myth common l. Pretty sure with bit of effort you could get on. Thecarpsharp 1 Quote
beanz Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 Bio-security in fishing terms (as far as I'm aware) is using the lake nets, mats and slings provided , or if trusted and allowed, using your own, once they're dried out properly. Its to stop the spread of disease or invasive species. UV ,and not the airing cupboard is preferred!! Quote
