snowmanstevo Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 Watched the match today from last night think it was peter Reid who didn't have a prob with Ballotelli taking it and Strachan did. Also think Rodgers has come out today and said if Gerrard is on the pitch he takes them,if not then it's Ballotelli who as I've said has a very good conversation record. I was shouting for him to take it last night Quote
dalthegooner Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 Watched the match today from last night think it was Peter Reid who didn't have a prob with Ballotelli taking it and Strachan did. You're right Also think Rodgers has come out today and said if Gerrard is on the pitch he takes them,if not then it's Ballotelli who as I've said has a very good conversation record. I was shouting for him to take it last night That's complete cobblers (Rodgers statement, not your post Stevo ) It's Rodgers doing his job and covering for Balotelli. That definitely wasn't the case. You could see that from the players reaction on the pitch (As well as Gerrards comments in the studio ). Although, I agree with you, Balotelli should be the man Quote
snowmanstevo Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 It was P.R from Rodgers I agree and there is a list who takes the pens on the night..... Ballo not being on the field from the start then it was Hendo whose name was 1st pen. But my understanding this season it was #1 Gerrard #2 Ballotelli #3 Henderson #4 Studge #5 Coutinio .... It's not like the Baines/Morellies incident ..... That one did puzzle me Quote
dalthegooner Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 Balotelli is a class player. He has an enormous amount of natural talent. It's being able to man manage him and get him to produce that constantly that is a challenge snowmanstevo 1 Quote
snowmanstevo Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 That and to get him to press and defend which is what our play is all about..... He started a lot of games when we was a new side and struggling for form. He also played as a lone striker and that's not his game,it will defiantly benifit his game now Studge is back Quote
muftyboy Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 Ballotelli will never be consistent enough ,could be one of the top players in Europe if he wasn't so lazy, also hasn't got the discipline to get the most out of his talent. Quote
dalthegooner Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 That and to get him to press and defend which is what our play is all about..... I think anyone would struggle to instill that discipline in him. Quote
snowmanstevo Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 He's got better boys at the defending bit,at least he's having a go at it dalthegooner 1 Quote

newmarket Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Well what a good goal that was . Can you see how we are performing so much better today with 11 men ? Im sure tottenham will come on strongly second half and i expect we'll see Eriksson soon enough but win lose or draw today its already a much better performance .... Quote

muftyboy Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Tim be careful what you wish , every time a club has got rid of Sam they have been relagated within 2 seasons. from what I know if we are in the premier when we move into the new stadium then westfield is gonna take over. Over the last 20 years playing the west ham way has meant regular relegation. Quote
newmarket Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Sam has to take the blame for that muft . The subs handed them the game. We had total control and Sam decideds that sitting back is again the only option. Cole? Jarvis? What the (I know this naughty word is banned but I decided to use it any way because I can't control myself) was that all about. Cardiff, Ipswich, Man United x 3. Tottenham x 3, Everton x 5, Leeds United, Aldershot, Birmingham, Sheff Weds, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace. That is 19 times that i can recall West Ham losing or drawing by conceding late late goals. Shocking stat. How many late late goals however to secure draws or wins. Quote
newmarket Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 (edited) Was it a pen ? Yes mate it was Edited February 22, 2015 by newmarket snowmanstevo 1 Quote
