buzzbomb Posted March 28 Author Report Posted March 28 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gadAdD4yVQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gadAdD4yVQ Over 40 years working at the club and seeing him in other bars I got to know Big Dave a bit. There are a few stories there. Big Dave Mclean and Colin Munn (Colin James) were at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, and Muddy Waters was there, and he had an afternoon workshop. Dave said "Go ask if you can play with him" and Colin said "No way, that's Muddy Waters!" and Big Dave said "If you don't, you'll be kicking your ass for the rest of your life." I can't remember if it was Colin or Dave that told me that, but it doesn't matter. Quote

buzzbomb Posted November 15 Author Report Posted November 15 In 1970 I had a friend who's mom would let him take her red Ford Comet 202 out anytime, with a Texaco card in the glove compartment, and we'd pick up Brenda and Joy and go cruising, and this, and Little Green Bag, and all the other hits of the era were on the radio. buzzbomb Posted 2 hours ago Author Report Posted 2 hours ago In the early days of streaming music, we used to snag blues bands travelling between dates on the west coast and Chicago or New York or Toronto, and they'd play our club on a Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday night, maybe to only a dozen people, then the next day they'd go to the song writing centre at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park and record a few sides for the internet, then get on a plane next morning and head to their next show. These guys left their CD. It's a love song. Quote
