Alot korda haters have just spent to much time watching Thinking Tackle. People moan about the advertiseing but they watch endless hours off free dvds and Korda programmes what do you expect. The haters also get annoyed when the tactics they have learnt from there arm chairs dont work when they go fishing. Its not poor water craft its kordas fault.lol.

Dont use any type of bubble float you use for surface fishing the preassure forces water into them when there underwater and it doesnt work properly. The float must be be completely ceiled!

preassure with out doubt is major factor in how fish feed. Lakes that get busy are useally fished by alot of one trick ponies who turn up and fill it in even though the fish arnt really feeding there ten anglers around the lake fishing for a big hit that is never going to happen. Instead of just fishing for one fish at a time there fishing for ten. so even if the fish do have little feed the chances of them picking up the hookbait is slim because there jst so much bait for them to eat the odss of the hook bait been picjed are a thusond to one them are getting worse with every spod full of bait. plus the preassure makeing them ultra cusios but the fish are still eating the bait while its fres jzst not getting caught . I do agree with what nick said about fish that dont get fished for often paticually if its low stock that is one of very few situations i beleive washed out baits could put more fish on the bank.

Not imo as if big carp sit there gaurding bait from smaller fish if they done that they would use more energy gaurding the bait than they would gain from eating it thats not how nature works. If you sit there for 3 days with out take thinking because its sat there for 3 days its more likely to be a big fish your very misguided if after 3 days a take occurs the fact is its just as likely to be the smallest fish in the lake as it is the biggest because in my expeirence the only thing that seperates the smallest fish in the lake and the biggest is size. If you sat there for 3 days and havent reeled in to look for other oppertunities elseware thats just bad angling. Catching big fish is all about consistancy sitting there 3 days with the rods out on majority of uk waters is not going to lead consistant angling. Imagine you turn up to the lake on a its thunder lighting big winds bang on conditions you put a kilo of bait out 2 days later its red hot 25 degrees is that kilo of bait more likely to be eaten in the the storm or just after the storm or 2 days later in the red hot weather most people would say in or just after the storm thats because conditions are and so many other aspects of angling are far more impotant than weather the baits fresh or washed out imo its neither here nore there but personally i prefer fresh bait to washed out bait. imo nicks looking into things to much there so many variables that could have effected the fish he seen eating baits days after its been put in that the bait been washed out proberly didnt have alot to do with it.

Personally dont buy in to the washed out bait theory because unless there no bird life, nuisance fish or crayfish and the carp stock is vey low the bait would rarely be in the water 48 hours in fact majority of lakes i doubt the bait makes it more than ten hours out in the lake majority of the time. Even when we not catching the fish are clearing the bait and just leaving the hook bait. Would a carp no the difference between a bait thats been in water 8 hours or 48 hours and then link this to safety i dont think so personally. imo its anouther example of looking into things to much.

What does that prove hooks arent meant to go up peoples noses. Its like saying a rapped a snooker cue round someboys head and its the cues fault for been made of wood. Lots of things are savage if not used correctly.

If somebody just starting fishing they have to worry about buying hair rigs never mind 360 rigs. Imo if simebody aspires to be a decent carp angler they shouldnt be fishing for carp to begin with. They should be fishing for anything that comes along servig an apprentiship by cathing roach, tench bream and if you lucky you mite land a carp. Forget leadcore, and 360 rigs the most dangerous thing for a carp is an unexeprieced istant carp angler thats trying to run before they can walk. Not only does an aprentiship give you expirience to handle fish properly it also teaches you water craft and that bait other than boilies can catch carp and that it isnt all about spods and chods. So many of the most importantant peices of the jigsaw in fishing are in basic coarse fishing. Rather than than putting the peices of jigsaw togeather by learning the basics they get sucked in to the comerercial world of free dvds and mags and takeing it as gospel in whats been said. If they had coarse fised they may realize its not about catching the latest ugly 50 on a magic wonder bait theres so much more to it. Rant over.

Leadcore carnt be blamed for mouth damage to me its very ovious that hooks cause mouth damage.

Funny 90% of people useing chods 6 or so years ago were useing leadcore now the naked chod is in vogue the very same people who used leadcore slate peole for useing it. If more people talked about there exprience and not just jumping on the band wagon fair enough but many are just repeating what they have read and heard and are talking rubbish. Leadcore is only as dangerous as the person useing it. Besides fish get teatherd by hooks not leadcore.

Didnt say we shouldnt take care of them did I. carnt see how size of the fish would make a differnce to how much damage can be caused by a certain rig take it this is anouther claim you carnt back up?

As ive said dont beleive it causes damage but looking at da pic above to me its just a vells abd whistle rigs. The way some people go on about fish welfare to the extremes some people go should stop putting hooks in them all togeather. Some carp anglers talk more rubbish than the animal rights nuts when it comes to carp welfare.

Just keep things simple. Really dont see the need to add swivels here rings there. Standard hair rig will catch anyware. People use these fancy rigs that are in vougue and apart from its the in thing they dont really no why there useing it. Dont see need for 360 rig but dont beleive it causes any more damage than any other rig a swivel on the hook is the least of the fishes worries considering the other end is a razor sharp peice of metal with a barb a swivel is neither here nor there. Dont listen to carp police they dont useally get out much and they base there theorys on what they hear not what they have attually expeirenced.

See alot people saying how sydicates are clicky but I just dont understand why that bothers people. Get on there and get on with your fishing. If your on the level you will soon be in the the click anyway. As for the sitch not my sort of fishing but if your after a bend in the rod in nice scenery and dont mind catching them type of fish that average 18 to 22lb with the chance of a 30 get on there.

If you want to to specifically catch cats dont dismiss the live and dead bait approach even if there pike present. Yea you are likely to catch odd pike and yes cats will eat anythin but imo live baits and oily deads will outfish boilies and most other bait hands down. That said lunchoin meat takes some beating. People who saying deads and lives are no go when there pike present are talking rubbish to be honest because i almost garantee they will up your catch rate for cats weather there pike present or not, cats are at there most active when pike are at there least active anyway!

Havnt been cat fishing for years but we caught useing, Live baits on dumb bell rigs wen its muggy and mild. Wen its cooler maybe dyson rig. If pike are an issue useing live bait fish maybe leeches or worms be worth ago. Both can be presented well on dumbell and dyson rig. Mackeral and sardienes are good dead baits just ledgerd over a bed of halibuts and liquadised liver mixed with halibut ground bait and chunks of dead fish deadly.

And very privliged in ware they got access to fish.

Mick brown is a top angler angler but that 40lber he had has no credit wat so eva propa wrongun that woz stocked in to a muddy hole only months before he caught it. on the whole mat hayes and mick brown woznt a bad watch better than robson green anyway.

Chods are so over used its incredible far to blatent imo for lots of situations. The best thing about chods is amount of people who are useing it leaving simple hair rigs well alone. Suits me. Lot of of people say its good for most bottoms. There lots of situations when a bottom bait straight out The bag will outfish pop up on any rig hands down. Personally I like my hook bait to blend in with The free bees as much as possible majority of The time paticually if The fish are pressured. Chods can make The carps life very easy in lot of lakes. Chod has its time and place but don't need to use them as much as many people do. Slightest bit of silt or weed they run to The chod. :roll

Stick to what works for you there no rules on length. The person who telling you its to long proberly been reading to many carp comics.

I keep repeating my self on here but i just can not emphisise enough how important it is to keep things simple. Standard hair rig and supple link is all thats needed. KEEP IT SIMPLE.

nobody said to use it with only maggots as that would be dangerous but it was explained at the start of the thread in detail about the use of artificial corn been used to mask the size 14 hook.
