  1. As ive said before for as long we rely on a lead to prick the fish for us we will have are backs to the wall! Ive watched carp come take and eject my rigs with no problem but when i strike as soon as they suck the bait in before the lead even moves there hooked almost every time! When floater fishing my take to hooked fish ratio is not far off 100% miss the odd one of coarse, but because im fishing for the take not the run im hooking alot more takes!
  2. Forget rigs location location location. What angle your hair leaves the hook should be the least of your worries if the fish are up the other end of the lake!

    Rigs

Always tie my own that way you only got yourself to blame if something goes wrong! As for buying rigs its a rip off and i imagine those who do aint always fishing with the sharpest hooks because they be less inclined to change them due to cost! Also some guy on 8 pence an hour in the far east couldnt care less if some guy in England loses a big fish!
  5. My point is for as long as we rely on the lead to drive the hook home when a fish takes the hook bait we are up against it. Imo you wont hook 7 or 8 out of ten pick ups with any rig in the world! Pressured fish impaticular are picking rigs up and rejecting them on a very regular basis far more than most people realise! The turner rig wont change that. The reason i said it looks poor is because of ware the bait is mounted there no seperation between the bait and the hook which i think will make life easier for the fish!
  6. The known carp anglers do so well because they have good water craft, lots of time and bait and are fishing the best lakes in the country! Rigs are secondry when you get the most important things right! Location, time and effort! Simple Imo for as long as you rely on the lead to hook the fish theres not any rig out there that can stop the carp from getting away with it. When stalking ill watch a fish pick up my hook bait and strike before the lead even moves and hook them nine times out of ten. If i dont strike and wait for the lead to hook the fish they spit the bait vout 9 times out of ten , then iver keep munching as if nothings happend or just mooch of! If you put bells and wistles on the rig it wont help it just clutters things up!
  7. Keep things simple. To be honest that rig looks terrible to me.
  8. Agreed i use bolt rig for most of my fishing but that would be in any baiting situation weather its a spread of boilies or tight bed of particle.
  9. I mite be missing the point but dont see the difference between using a running lead over a bed of bait or using it over spread of boilies. When the fish get prickd by the hook they run weather its a running rig or fixed rig. Personally i think people who say useing running rigs over a bed of particle dont work as good or useing semi fixed rigs are better, are as useal looking far to much into things and making it needlessly more complicated than it needs be. But thats modern carp fishing for you! That aint to say that running rigs and fixed rigs wont sometimes outfish each other if ones been to done to death and the other hardly been used then the it would possibly make differnce. But baiting situations bed of particle or spread of boilie dont come into it imo!
  10. When the weather like it is at the moment catch over 50% of my fish free lineing . Tie a hook on main line, some bread floating or slow sinking job done.
  11. pot noodle carp are carp that are carp that are stocked at big weights or gain big weights with in few years. instant big carp! And the way otters are going they are desimating waters all that will be left will be lakes that have otter proof fencing! as ci said thats a different issue.
  12. Just bin down local lake to find out its been polluted with simmos only a few but aint the point. The original fish are all stunners and to me it feels as if they spoilt the heratidge of the fish in there. Sadly this seems to be common place up and down the country to stock the things. In years to come i fear the fast growing lumps with no propa history or character will be all thats left. It seems there to much demand for pot noodle carp! As long as there a fence that is so the otters dont get them but thats a different issue.
  13. sure it will come togever mate stick at it ,and let us no when you bag a biggun.
  14. Would concentrate on location more than worrying about rigs, keep it simple standard hair rig on clip or running lead . keep your eyes peeled and stay mobile.
  15. if you find such a rig let me no becuase as far as im aware no such rig exist. wouldnt go down the choddy route because its far from a take anyware rig like anythin it has a time and a place. keep things simple and change accordingly ie:rig legth, hair legh, lead size ect.
