Are you sure the biggest is only 4lb mark ? A couple of them look bigger than that .

Let me state clearly that I am not racist, far from it.
I do however hate free loaders and scum comming into the UK or anywhere else for that matter.
Since the communist grip of eastern europe was relaxed the whole of Europe has beneffited.
However the UK joining the common market was the first step on the ladder of the destruction of GREAT Britain.
 
Now to the Point. if you go to the countries where these poachers originate you often find laws far moor severe than here, eg Poland, Rumania, Ukraine etc etc, in all these countries if ytou are caught with fish above a certain size you lose everything including your freedom.
Thats great in them countries because the fish all breed VERY succesfully and there is a huge harvestable surpluss of fish, that can be caught and eaten, but over a certain size they are put back to breed, whereas in the UK the fish simply dont breed like that and there is no harvestable surpluss.
Its no different to us harvesting wood pigeons that over populate the uk, but in Europe, where they dont breed as well they are protected in the main.
However a small minority of people can see the oppertunety in countries that have little wildlife law enforcement to catch native wildlife for markets in other counties, eg the netting taking place in Spain Germany, Uk, Ireland etc, and the vwholesale slaughter of Swans, Geese etc the the UK and Ireland.
These people are often not Countrymen, fishermen etc, they simply hear and see anglers catches and find on the internet and from books ways of harvesting these fish etc.
This last lot in Spain will be deported etc, but there are many more that get away with it.
Until everybody conserned, anglers, dog walkers police etc get together and start talking, they the poaches will get away with it.
With my own eyes I have seen poaching completely ignored by anglers both here and in other european countries.
Yet one phonecall and its often delt with.

Some of what I retrieved was real gunk but mostly whole leaves. Unsurprising, that time of the year isn't it. The lead, immediately after being cast (3oz) was pretty well buried in the deeper water, definitely silty. I've got 1 week to think long and hard about this, tie some test rigs. Most importantly, haven't been this excited about fishing a water in ages! The mystery! Well exciting!

It is Tuesday and im a bit bored.

Silicone tubing, I managed to get a large amount in olive green and clear from Mo's co before he disappeared, and as of yet, don't need to get anymore.
 
As for shrink tubing, I don't get that from a tackle shop, I go to Maplins and look carefully at the sizes before I purchase what I want. I say that, cos I can't remember what sizes they do, but know it is usually the smallest available that I want.
I don't care that along its length it does have some white writing or printing, cos while the carp are busy trying to squint and read what it says, they are also sucking my bait into their mouth

If your asking if you need a licence then yes mate ... everyone needs to have a fishing licence to fish , we won't be going if you haven't got one .

Well, I've not managed much time for carp fishing in the past few weeks, but I did actually manage a few chub last week on a couple of short sessions. Somehow on Tuesday I managed to wangle a day off, my course got cancelled, and rather than juggle the rota I took the day off and went to the local river for a couple of hours, and to lok at a local lake.
 
Armed with just a bag of dog biscuits, rod, reel, and landing net I managed a 2lb chub from the river.
 
However Friday was the better day as Big Dave is back in town, and together we wandered the river in the eveninglobbing dog biscuits in and both managed a take or two. Dave managed a 2lb fish from a new spot
 
I was lucky enough to manage 2 chub, the biggest of which was 4lb and ounces and was hooked and played from a bridge across the river...
 

Not exactly a pet I know,but after finding a swarm down our field in the spring have taken up bee keeking .
