Yes I do really like the natural banks and swims it is a stunning complex, however access road is very bad and parking areas and paths also totally natural which isnt good at all in the wet. Hard to get the balance right I guess.
I hope your lake doesnt look too managed for you, remember it grows back pretty damn quick.
I do take a lot more pictures of the lake whilst at this complex so I obviously prefer the natural look over man made swims.
Our 2nd trip to Italy we found the owner had ripped out all the far bank snags we expected to fish to, looked shocking, ruined the trip and ruined the bay area since, so I know how you must be feeling. 👎

So what are you saying fellas ? ; it reads like you both want to be made a fuss of 😁 .
I'm a Postie , and usually what happens is a passing dog may strain at its lead to come over to me , and have a good sniff of my trainers . Then I'll give the dog a stroke after letting it sniff my hand .
I just love meeting handsome dogs , who are much prettier than their owners 🐶.

crusian reacted to kevtaylor in Unfreezing boilies
I find the various liquids preserve the bait as they are salty. If I put the food source glug and some liquid krill on the boilies a couple of days before the session in a bucket they defrost, take some glug in and last for ages, I left them in the sealed bucket between session by accident and they were absolutley perfect still 2 weeks later.
I don't air dry baits any more as that seems a bit pointless, I've also thrown in frozen baits and had no worries about that - why would you they defrost in the water.

For years I have taken baits out of the freezer as I pack my gear into the car.
I've rarely gone to the 'faff' of adding extra liquid or defrosting a day before.
I'm not saying defrosting before use does not work, but I have caught on baits that have been put on the hair still part frozen, and sometimes within minutes of casting in.

French stuff has garlic
Chinese stuff has sweet and sour

Could use that part of the CRA.
would also help if you could pick up the advert to prove it doesn’t mention the fact it will only fit pre or post 2017 model.

How many times have I said updates and upgrades are not always better?
Nor me.
That's not a mark 2, it's a mark 2.5 or 3.
I hope you get it sorted, you can always use the return of item as not suitable for use described. It is one you could win especially if you got Trading Standards or CAB involved as the description is not clear.

crusian reacted to salokcinnodrog in Tench
My tench gear is 1.75lb test curves, 8 or 10lb line, 6lb hooklinks and hooks between 8 and 12.
I do love lift float fishing for them, one or two on buzzers and one on the float.
Tench are a lot more wary than carp, so longer hooklinks, smaller baits, sweetcorn, maggots, worms or smaller boilies.

Hi Callum
You beat me to it as I use a Multi Rig with ESP Semi Stiff .
Julian Cundiff has a video clip on the Multi Rig with his slight tweaks .
I'd be interested to read your results using this rig if you wanted to post them .

Same swim, 2 weeks later.
I've been putting bait in when I leave, and although I had a walk around didn't see anything to make me want to go anywhere else.
Last week I did have 2 tench over the bait, biggest an estimated 5lb

Back down for another 3-4 nights potentially, picked back of the wind based on what I saw last trip and after setting up I saw several shows to my surprise, showing me where to put the rods, fingers crossed might get lucky - think I've dropped right on them unless they're passing through, some chunks to - fingers crossed 🤞

Welcome to carp.com.
I forgot the last time I was actually sane, must be something like 15years ago...
Sadly being off work with mobility problems, needing a back operation and hip replacement means I spend far too much time fishing, but I'd rather that than be stuck in a 1bedroom flat all day.

I had an old guy and a woman ask me all about jack and whereabouts the breeder lives just an hour apart the other Sunday. Neither seemed interested in me lol 🤷♂️

Well he is a fancy show cocker don't you know 🤣 he is due a trim Thursday - I get him done every 6-8 weeks. I did George myself twice a year, whereas Jack doesn't even like me brushing him.

Looks like Jack has had a wash and blow dry specially for the occasion .

lol - I might blank all year on this place but I'm going for it, only takes one bite.

4 night blank to get me into the swing of things, lots to learn and a new playing field as the water is up 4ft on last year's drought level.
Great trip loved it - spring is in the air, the birds are at it, frogs in the margins being hunted by pike and masses of bugs crawling out the lake especially during rain - so many caddis or whatever they were that it freaked me out - all coming under my door by the dozen.
Can't wait to get back down asap.
