  1. Thanks very much everyone , especially Yonny who's saved me lots of money as he has " used most of them " ! . It's all the properties that Yonny lists Stevo that I'm , and I think the other chaps are after .
  2. Hi Fellas Has anyone used this , and if so what do you think please ? . Ta .
  3. Hello Smufter and David I'm sure there was a thread on here at one time about Ace Hooks which basically suggested they allegedly were dodgy . When the Ace Hooks first came out my local tackle shop said they were the fastest selling hook he had ever had , but you don't seem to hear much about them now . Is it Yonny who has professional experience with metals ? , maybe he will read this and like to comment , or send a PM to him ? . I think it's Yonny that is testing the ESP Cryogenic Hooks . Hope this helps .
  4. Hi Smufter Could it also be that Gardner have introduced their Covert Dark range this year with micro barbs , and therefore the original Covert Range with a full barb are being phased out ? . You could always email Lewis Read and ask him , I've always found him very helpful and generous with his time
  5. Hello Smufter Sorry for the delay in replying , I have the JRC Contact Barrow . I'm very happy with it . It folds up in half ( you could really do with an extra pair of hands , but you soon get the knack of using your knees ! ) and the wheel removes quickly . The only problem is that I could do with being taller or having shorter arms as I find the back legs sometimes catch on the ground so I have to bend my arms where I really want to have straight arms . Maybe this is the Barrow for you also , Spr Hope the above helps .
  6. Hello David I love my Trakker Brolly ; I also own a Wychwood Solace 50" , but I find that a bit small and not as quick to erect as my Trakker . I take the Trakker every trip and leave it in the car unless I'm going over to the far side of the lake - the Weather Forcasters lie .
  7. Hello Smufter I bumped into a chap who is using " the purple line " . He said the 12lb was rubbish - he couldn't get it to knot satisfactorily and had lost fish because of this , but he was happy with , umm was it the 15lb or the 18lb ? d'oh I can't remember ! .
  8. Well Smufter , DPF sales could rocket or plummet - it's all down to you . No pressure then ! . I think you at least should post a picture of your tarty set up .
  9. Thank goodness it's Yonny with the laboratory , if was someone like Cyborx goodness knows what his twisted mind - oops , I mean fertile imagination would conjure up ! .

Can I have the cute little white one for my wife please ? . TJ - is that the face of a little rascal , or what ? .
  12. Thanks Phil that's saved me £199 ! .
  13. What about a JRC one , Lumey . I think it's a JRC Contact , folds down quickly , not too bulky , but I haven't used it extensively .

I see NM as more a Flat Cap man - " working class , and bloomin' proud of it ! " That's a cool avatar Cyborx .

    Aviary .

Hey NM as Cyborx says , can't you sidle up to someone in the pub and say " psst , wanna buy some Mountain Quail eggs " . It's not as if the Mountain Quail is going to dob you in ! .
  16. Hello Lumey I haven't got one , but as far as I understand it you can transmit live images ( so I guess that would include any fish passing by ) . However , I believe you would have to guess when a fish was swimming past because the float has to surface before transmitting it's data to your 'phone / iPad . Incidentally in this months' Carpology the Fishspy is on offer at £200 , I wonder if this is because of slow sales due to the cost ? .
  17. Hello BC I bought this Brolly because I liked the idea of the ribs being on the outside with the centre boss . Previously I had a Wychwood Solace 50" , and it always slightly irritated me how it wouldn't free stand until I'd sorted out the poles - especially if it was threatening to chuck it down . I haven't used the Trakker yet , just erected it to check it out . I thought the headroom was disappointing until I realised I hadn't used the Tensioning Strap - d'oh ! , then there was plenty of room . I was wary of being too energetic erecting the Trakker as it was new and I wanted to carefully stretch out the fabric , but with more frequent use and practice it should go up very quickly . From videos I see that the no longer available Trakerlite Bivvy had a light alloy ( ? ) boss , but the Brolly has a lighter ( ? ) plastic composite ( ? ) . I love the wrap around sides which I believe will give me a lot of protection , but allow me to keep watch on the water . Hope the above waffle is of some help to you .

  19. Hello Yonny The size 4 and 6 barbless in Neals' 'photo look pretty strong , could you go into a bit more detail as to why you wouldn't use a fly hook for Carp please . Ta
  20. Hi Dayvid There's a friendly Robin down my local lake . I've bought some mealworms , and I hope with patience to have him / her feeding from my hand .
  21. Hello CM " my mistake for recommending them without giving them a fair trial period, my apologies to all concerned. " So if I return my Kranks to you , you'll give me a full refund ? .
  22. And to think Russians have nuclear weapons !!! .
  23. Thanks for the heads up about the Fox Zig Aligner , Hutch . That's very interesting what you are saying Beanz , and like Neal I too would like to know your prefered hook pattern now . Ta .
  24. Thanks fellas A Line Aligner ? - hmm , something else for me to think about , thanks Nick . What is your opinion on Micro Barbs please NM ? . Thanks for the recommendation Neal ; I'm guessing it was easier to put a blanket ban on using any Curve Shanks at Graviers rather than single out specific manufacturers patterns .
