  1. They are good. He knows his stuff and has been around for a long time.
  2. I've used premier since 2002, love their bait. I've used a few of them but my go to are Matrix RR with matrix flavour, but for the last 14yrs primarily I've used a custom bait rolled with the supaminos basemix.
  3. In my opinion there was only one smoked ham flavour and that was the original premier baits smoked ham. Awesome flavour. As for flavour shelf lives, watch john bakers latest videos on YouTube and he explains a lot about flavours etc. I'm pretty sure he said they don't have a long shelf life.
  4. We as anglers put our bait on clear spots primarily, for rig efficiency and in our minds thinking that's where the fish need it to be to feed on it. Carp are masters of their own environment though and can feed where they like, when they like. So from clean gravel, clay spots, silt in varying depths , in the weed and of course in the water column itself. By watercraft and observation of any food being excreted by a carp that you catch you can get an idea on where they are feeding predominantly. In my opinion there are definitely times when fish prefer to feed on gravel, on/in silt etc. If you can work this out on your lake then it makes the puzzle easier to fit together. I've fished a couple of lakes in the past that were full of gravel bars/plateaus, silt gulleys and weedy areas. Without doubt in my own fishing the gravel spots in these lakes or the weed were the places to fish in the warmer months. Though at night time better results were achieved by fishing where the gravel met the silt. Autumn time was definitely the silty areas/clay spots that done the majority of the fish for me.
  5. Probably because some of the ingredients become too expensive to formulate it, especially if they are from the EU etc. A lot of the well known flavours are no longer the same as they were years ago due to this.
  6. Unlucky. Both lakes that I'm a member of have cancelled them due to covid.
  7. In my opinion and the recommended recipe from nutrabaits is that guava goes much better with Madagascar clove oil. I've used it and it is a good cold water combo for sure.
  8. So, 16oz BFM 2grms GLM 20ml CSL 4 drops Black pepper oil 3ml Guava nutrafruit
  9. My advice is, stick the lot into a cement mixer to combine it all. Once the powders are mixed, add eggs, a flavour of your choice, an oil and liquid food. Jobs a goodun.
  10. I've watched a fair number of the korda films on YouTube and noticed they do ok with the garlic goo. Anyone tried this? Had plenty of good reports from people using garlic essential oil in their bait so wondered if the goo is good?
  11. Forgive me for saying this, but if you've had 7 takes and yet to land one then you're doing something wrong in my opinion. I hope you're not losing your gear in the fish and are just having hook pulls, which still isn't ideal.
  12. I'm pretty sure the nutrabaits recipes were all 500grms of base mix. I've got a recipe with guava nutrafruit in it, I'll try and find it. It might take me a day or 2 mind Haha
  13. Just wondered what rod you're combining that with to achieve that distance?
  14. Absolute stonker mate. Do you think that the goo had that much of an impact to your catches? Or was it maybe the more you fished, the more bait you applied and the more confident the fish got on your bait? Impossible to answer that I guess. Either way, what a fish mate.
  15. Just because there are no reports about a lake, doesn't mean nothing is happening. I know if I was fishing and definitely in the past myself and the few that carried on fishing kept everything to ourselves. A mate of mine had an excellent winter 4 yrs ago and to this day only 5 people know about it. This is simply for the fact that if people know or knew about his winter catches then the lake would be busy, potentially messing up your own fishing.
  16. For me personally, I wouldn't touch korda goo or any similar product. For me having total confidence in the bait you use should be enough. Start adding goos and glugs then you might start questioning whether it's the bait , the glug or whatever is catching the fish. Use a matching enhancer that match your hookbaits for sure but a goo not for me. I suppose it's all about what you're confident in. If it gives you confidence then fair enough but for me your confidence should be in your bait and not an overpowering goo.
  17. As has been said, it may be too late to get something going. Although if you intend on fishing this water throughout the spring then in my opinion getting bait in now won't do any harm what so ever, especially if you know your water and the fish habits. I was fishing one particular water throughout a season but in January I decided to start on a neighbouring water. Started pre-baiting in January and although I failed to catch in January or February, in March when the fish started waking up properly I caught a good number of fish. If tufties or coots are numerous then any boilies I would crumb and chop them so it hopefully leaves some for the carp if the ducks dive on it.
  18. You want an asphalt boiling ring. Get them from roofing supply shops I'd imagine.
  19. Just get a readymade pop up mix.
  20. No fishing for me for a while. Both my lakes are too far regarding travel restrictions during lockdown. As for my sea fishing, well that will be waiting a long time I feel. I dare not even look into my carp gear, not opened that since last spring.
  21. At the time of voting though I felt he was the best of a bad bunch. Jo swinson lib dem snowflake, no chance. Jeremy (I support the ira and anti British ) corbyn, absolutely not. And for the record I did vote out. As for boris looking out for his mates, no different to Blair (war criminal) looking out for his wife. They all tell lies and tell you what you want to hear and once in power they do nothing of the sort. Boris said he would vet Brexit done and has done so. Theresa May's brexit deal was apparently better than boris's but labour, lib dems etc voted against it so blame the mp's. That's all I'm saying 😂😂
  22. I'd personally use peanuts. If the carp get on them, they can be devastating.
  23. If I had to use one of those then john bakers would be my choice. Bio shellfish mix with plum and ala salar.
