  2. Which end or pegs fish best this time of year on st johns?
  3. Got told on my syndicate back in September that paul who owns the lake has thrown the club off as people were caught night fishing when its not allowed and fishing had been stopped
  4. Moorsey I hear what your saying I now only use rig tubing but as I have said no rig or leader is a 100% safe not even when fishing mainline straight through as the risk of flipping scales and cutting fins and the body of our fish is always there. There are pro and cons of both methods
  5. Sticks all the time, but if only i could afford the N-brice carbon pod i would have it for sure
  6. To be fair no rig or leader of any kind is 100% safe we use rigs leaders as what we see fit to be safe. Rigs/leaders are only death rigs if tied incorrectly its that simple.
  7. Im lucky enough to own a set as work was going well last year so i brought myself a set of the Aereo technuim mags xsb. They are without a doubt the best reels out there in terms of build looks and playing fish on you really wont believe it until you have a set so get em.

  15. We all hate to see these kind of fish. Its getting to be to common these days more so on day ticket runs waters. Is there a barbless rule or barbed hook rule i believe that barbed are better for the fish alltough i know others will agree to disagree. It is also my belief that some combi rigs are to blame for such damage such as the hinged stiff rig using an albright knot! Now i use this rig myself with fantastic hook holds but in my view the rig can be harmful when the distance between you hook and the knot are to close together say 1cm/10mm because its so short a gap i think it acts like a little saw when playing a fish even when putting putty over the knot.
  16. I'll send you a check pm me your address, it will be end of the month How much deposit again?

  20. I used to use leadcore, some of you may remember myself and Nick having a heated chat about as at the time found nothing wrong with it and always considered myself as a caring and safe angler, However i have recently had a bad exsperance with leadcore and would never fish with it again in fact it upset me that much i no longer use any kind of leader at all and have since been using tigerline and fishing it straight through. Going back to what happened i had a fish on which then became snagged up my leadcore was esp leadcore and was fished helicoper style on a 3ft lenght now thankfully i was able to put on my chest waders go in and recover the fish and rig, what i found was the top bead had came up about 2ft and it appears to have become kinked with the leadcore sticking out of the braid which was also wrapped around the branch there is no doubt in my mind that if this was flourocarbon leader or straight throw this would not have happened... Its Shocking to see this setup, im not saying this is a deadly material but until it happens to you its often to late, Nick and others i offer my thanks for making me think. LEADCORE No Thanks
  21. Hi Folks, I cant help this so here we go, i have just come back from a session on my syndicate with a few mates and have been asked not once not twice but three times by both and someone i dont know if they coul borrow this and borrow that because they have forgot this or run out of that.. Now these guys are top lads and know how to fish. So i go back to my previous comment on appearance on the banks and i mention the 6 PPPPPP's. So for all those that are like my 2 noddy mates (they'll hate me for that but they deserve it) and you dont know what the 6 PPPPPP are here it is so take note and get it sorted!!!! PRIOR PLANNING PREVENTS P**S POOR PERFORMANCE
  22. no mate there's plenty of room dont forget the £10.00 joining fee you will have to pay as well as your day ticket if my memery serves me right its around £20 each for the first time but its been years since i fished it last
